Dartmouth drives 80 yards, scores a TD on fourth down from the 1 yard line with no time on the clock, wins 16-13. All on the ground. Only pass of the game apparently was on that drive, and it was incomplete. Will be interesting to see the attendance on a Friday night game at Franklin Field in great weather. Game was on NBCSports nationally.

Not good optics in a stadium that seats close to 55,000.

Thanks bison. I tuned in just as Dartmouth was starting its final drive, and mis-heard or mis-understood the announcers. I looked at the box score this morning. Dartmouth had 414 yards of total offense, Penn 243. Have to think this may be a very good Dartmouth team.
The announced attendance, which looks to be a true figure, should be sobering to those who assert that lights at Fitton and night games will be an attendance boon.
Game time temperature was near 70, clear skies, no Rosh Hashanah to interfere.

The attendance you alluded to, but did not give for some reason, was 4023.

One reason I remember to check Rosh Hashanah dates is because when either Harvard or Brown first scheduled night games a few years ago, one of them scheduled a game on Rosh Hashanah, and there was a question of whether Jewish players would suit up.

the 4000 'announced' attendance might have been a stretch. I watched some of the game and there were no more than 200 or so seated on the visitors side. At times it was difficult to hear any crowd noise and the optics of an empty stadium was downright spooky. Dartmouth winning this game gives me no consolation to our inexcusable (missed extra pt) loss

2 mid-pack Ivies. Can't imagine any Dartmouth fans in the vicinity and UPenn football fans near Philly aren't going to turn out for this matchup. Students aren't psyched either and have better options on a nice Friday night. I tuned in for the 4th quarter and it was a ghost town. Weird echo to the stadium announcers voice in the background. 4K might even be generous.
