There's a local blogger who rants about all kinds of stuff - some worth ranting, some not. He currently is posting various tweets of support for the killer to demonstrate some outrageous attitudes some people have about a tragedy like this

My heart goes out to the family and all those part of this horrific tragedy.
The Criminal justice system in Worcester County should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. This cop killer had a laundry list of convictions and should have been behind bars. After serving a 7 year sentence (released in 2013) for drug trafficking, possession of firearm (illegal) he was arrested on 2 separate occasions. He has a lengthy list of assaulting police officers.
I cannot fathom any possible extenuating circumstances that would have warranted this guy being out on his own recognizance.
From the dozens of police officers that I have known and worked with over the years, their jobs are 99% boredom (think patrolling Freshmen Field tailgaters) and 1% terror. While I have heard and read of bad police officers who are "badge heavy," I have encountered only two that I recall in my lifetime. The vast majority of them serve and protect us and deserve our respect and gratitude.
