Wow. If true, that would be a stunner.

Don't see anything on the Twitter. Only a question of "when" now and perhaps best for all parties if he gets on with his life sooner than later. Something's terribly wrong here; the Dartmouth loss seemed to completely kill the team for no good reason.

Maybe a move to get out ahead of coaching search and get new guy in place asap for recruiting season.

If it's true, they'd probably be meeting with the players this morning before anything becomes public. Not sure what time football players get up on a Fall Sunday these days but 10:40 would have been early for them back in the day.

I wonder if a decision was made prior to yesterday...we just looked so collectively lifeless. Someone here even compared our effort to the 2 hepatitis games of 1969.

With new early signing period, its vitally important to have someone in place early.

Is it just me or did he seem a little sadder/more emotional at the start of his post-game comments? twitter.com/HCrossFB

Confirmed. Wish Gilmore the best. Hoping we can pickup a great coach to usher us into a new era. Like I said a couple of times this weekend and well after the normal cooling off period: This was going to happen (or maybe, as 87 said, already did). Nothing redeeming going on anywhere. Impossible for any staff, no matter whose fault it was, to attract anyone to play for the school, the team looked so bad. Hope the players didn't just flat out quit on him, but it sure appears that they did.

He wouldn't be dismissed without the okay of Fr. B and the head of the athletics committee of the BoT. And there wouldn't be any announcement until a meeting with the players.
If he was dismissed, someone on the current staff will be appointed interim head coach.

If this is true, I can understand why the decision was made. Certainly there were undoubtedly many things behind the scenes that we will never know.
Nevertheless, even if it was necessary, I feel a certain sadness for Tom Gilmore. He has poured heart and soul into Holy Cross since he came here in 2004. His lack of success is not due to lack of effort or commitment. It is in the nature of the profession that you succeed or you are let go.
Thank you, Coach Gilmore, for all of your efforts on behalf of Holy Cross.

With new early signing period, its vitally important to have someone in place early. Early signing period in 12/20-12/22 so a new coach would be in for a very busy first few weeks assuming we name someone as soon as most college football seasons end in mid-November. If we think Lee Hull is the right guy, he could be in place sooner and working to assemble a staff right now. A current head coach at a lower level would obviously have a staff in place.

Big news and surprised ADNP would make this move mid season. Do we know who the interim head coach is? My guess is it will be Coach Brian Rock.
