KenPom has our offensive efficiency at 94.2 to start the season (#307 in D-1) versus 98.7 last year, #278 in the country. He has the defense at 102.3 (#200) versus last year's 102.9 (#136). Of course, he has to start somewhere and it's probably some algorithm (Bison 137 may be able to help) based on returning players. So, freshmen are likely not included in any way.

How do the overall pre-season ranking compare to where the teams finished 2017?

Thanks. So some pretty big shifts I presume, particularly in the leagues like the PL, based on what is lost and what is returning.

1. Bucknell (14-4) - 75 2. Navy (11-7) - 163 3. Colgate (10-8) - 174 4. Lehigh (10-8) - 181 5. Army (10-8) - 188 6. BU (8-10) - 224 7. Loyola (7-11) - 257 8. Holy Cross (7-11) - 268 9. American (7-11) - 275 10. Lafayette (6-12) - 293
2017-18 Patriot League Men’s Basketball Coaches Preseason Poll Bucknell, 162 (18 first-place votes) Boston University, 141 (2) Navy, 120 Lehigh, 108 Colgate, 104 Loyola Maryland 78 Army West Point, 66 Holy Cross, 48 American, 39 Lafayette, 27
When Comparing the Coaches to KenPom: Bucknell - 1, 1 BU - 2, 6 Navy - 3, 2 Lehigh - 4, 4 Colgate - 5, 3 Loyola Maryland - 6, 7 Army - 7, 5 Holy Cross - 8, 8 American - 9, 9 Lafayette 10,10
The biggest differences seem to be BU, Colgate and Army. I think that BU might be overrated at the 2 a little bit but I think whoever was put at the 2 was likely to be that way given how wide-open that spot should be. I really can't see us falling outside of the top 5 though. I think KenPom is probably overrating Army a bit due to returning talent. It would not surprise me to see Colgate closer to 3 than 5.

Released over the weekend. The PL breaks down as follows: The PL, as a conference, ranks #19. #19 conference rank for the PL is actually a half decent projection, I think. Maybe its because no one is projected for The 300 Club. What it needs is another top 100 team. Hopefully HC can oblige in the not too distant future.
