Another classic non-call by some awful refs. The DB had his arms around the receiver. This will be a game for our underclassmen to remember, especially the way the DB folded his arms and gloated..

Followed by yet another!!! Two pass interferences ignored by refs in a row. Un-Be-live-able.

Oh well. Another tough year. Thanks to the seniors for all of their time and dedication to the program over the last 4-5 years and best wishes to each of them for tremendous success going forward.

Thank you to the seniors for their dedication and to the underclassmen to prepare for next season under a new coaching staff.....may ADNP make a great choice to lead these players and others to be recruited to success on Fitton Field. It should be an interesting month ahead.....

Thank you to all of the seniors. Hopefully you have been part of a program with better days ahead, and can always take pride in the wins over Fordham and UNH.

The DB on the first one knew he got away with one. Wrapped his arms around himself and sashayed around.
Even with fair refs, we would have lost in all probability but these were by far the worst/most one sided refs I have seen in ages.

Competent/fair refs would not have been enough for an HC win today, but it clearly would not have been as one-sided as it became with these IDIOTS! I wish the Mountain Hawks well against Lafayette and in the playoffs.

Thank you to all the members of the HC FB team, and yes, especially the Seniors!
With all that went on this season, it must not have been easy or comfortable to put in all the time and effort!
Good luck to the Seniors moving on in their careers!
And, to the underclassmen, hang in there, a new era is about to begin!

I am not sure 6-5 is really that much better, but I see your point. Colgate may have the better chance of being a "decent" PL representative...unless Lehigh can bring their refs along to work the playoff game. ;)i

I'm a little loathe to post this because it's not on the kid (anybody undah 40 is a kid to me) per se (God knows where we would have been without him) but here are the "macro stats" (win-loss) of the Pujals-era:
2013: 3-9 started 8 games 2014: 4-8 started all 12 games 2015: 6-5 started all 11 games 2016: 4-7 started 4 games 2017: 4-7 started all 11 games
Pujals is statistically one of the greatest QBs in PL history....but collectively we went 21-36 (.368 winning %) during the "Pujals-era."
Point of the post, I suppose, is what can we learn/glean from this? Did Pete's teams not get enough institutional support (recruiting etc), where were the holes in the coaching, what are things that we can do collectively as a school/program to break out of this rut???
I know we have addressed or started to address some of this (Luth, new coaching staff etc) but when you step back and look at it in a macro-sense (wins and losses) as i just did, it's kind of illuminating at what a project the next coaching staff has in front of them.

We have been bad for a long time. Doesn’t have anything to do with Peter or any other individual player. Need to build the program from the ground up. Looking forward to seeing who Pine selects for that challenging job.

Was at game. Team ran out of steam in second half. Lehigh has had our number for past several years. Hope we get a good head coach going forward. Going to be a long road back !!

That's essentially my point (in a round-about/convoluted fashion)....as good as Pete was, look at our overall results during his time here. Major changes are needed. Where do you begin, above and beyond what we've already done?

I know he use a darling here but should we also consider a new strength and conditioning coach?
Non-medical red shirt is a non-starter unless we change leagues and that topic had been beaten to death here. Same as the more flexible admissions standards. Ann can’t have too many years left but I wonder if an early retirement package would appeal to her? But, a big but, higher ups have to set the policy that she implements. Frank V presumably no longer calls the shots as he moves to working with alums.

Pujols is one of the best QBs I've seen in the PL. The why for mediocre results is relatively easy. Most of your best athletes are frosh and sophs. The prior classes all had some top players but not enuf. The knock on Cross over the years has been a lack of team speed particularly on D. Some better with your underclassmen but the lack of depth across the board is still there. An issue for most PL this year save Gate.

Dartmouth and Lafayette games basically ruined the season. Dartmouth game was won. Then lost incredibly with the PAT blocked. Lafayette game was just a bundle of errors. So we go 4-7 with PP at quarterback. I'am afraid the next few years will not be pretty. Hoping that new coach and staff can turn us into winners once again. Thanks to all the players this year and good luck to our seniors for their dedication and efforts.

Will take a Herculean effort from the Engineer defense to be competitive in the playoffs. Looks like the PL will draw either UNH, Stony Brook or Delaware in the first round. I don't see Colgate matching up that much better but at least they have a shred of a defense.
As far as the end of our season, definitely a meh finish to Pujals' career. Expected better against this porous D today. Was hoping for at the very least a competitive game. Our three straight wins in Bethlehem feel like a generation ago.

Thanks to all the players this year and good luck to our seniors for their dedication and efforts. Hope does spring eternal with the search underway for a new head coach. Our defense should remain a strong point though McBeath will be missed. Hands down the best linebacker we've had since I first set foot on campus.
Our veteran O Line is largely graduating but they were highly inconsistent this year.
Can this program ever get to the point where we can more heavily rely on a solid ground game?
Losing Pujals doesn't worry me as much as I thought it would. Hell of a football player and a leader (4-year captain!!) but never felt as comfortable with him nailing his throws like I did with DR or even Ryan Taggart. Also felt the staff didn't let him run as much this year b/c they didn't want him to get hurt again before PL play started up.
First half of our schedules in both 2018 and 2019 very daunting. @ Colgate, @bc to start next season and then Yale, Harvard and UNH not long after.
