Arizona State is independent. Is there any chance they might join Atlantic Hockey?

ASU is not a bad team....good size with plenty of Canadians. Goalie was a legit tender and has been drafted by Ottawa of the NHL already. Very impressed with his skills. HC needs to get stronger and more physical with their play. Game #2 tonight at 7:05 PM, see for yourself.

As of this moment: men— 1 winning record (hockey), 2 with .500 record (including hoops), 6 losing records; 3 (baseball, lacrosse, track and field) yet to start. Women—3 winning records (cross country, hockey, swimming), 2 at .500, 5 with losing records and 3 yet to start.

ASU is a team that we should have beaten. They are transitioning into Division 1. It will be a total disgrace if we lose to them again tonight. Our hockey program does seem like we cannot get going especially in March where our post season record in the Berard era is awful really awful.

A loss and a tie to a team transitioning into Division 1. Very Disappointing weekend.

Not sure what to make of this but, of the 10 games we have lost or tied, we have had a lead later than 5 minutes remaining in the second period in 6 of them.

Apropos of this, perhaps . . . was at the game tonight with my better half, who was a little dismayed at how much fresher and faster ASU seemed compared to HC, in the 3rd stanza, particularly. They were also much more physical throughout. Probably fortunate to have gotten out of there with the tie.

A loss and a tie to a team transitioning into Division 1. Very Disappointing weekend. Especially at home. Putting up 42 shots and not coming out today with a win hurts. On to Rochester... To be precise, H.C. is ranked 42nd and ASU 43rd in USCHO's Pairwise ( PWR ) ranking post-Saturday-night's-game-@-11:30 EST. The rankings are of the 60 Div. I men's ice hockey teams. www.uscho.com/rankings/pairwise-rankings/d-i-men/The PWR is is a system which attempts to mimic the method used by the NCAA Selection Committee to objectively determine participants for the NCAA Division I men's hockey tournament, the "Frozen Four." It fluctuates every game day throughout the season and is a much more sophisticated mathematical tool than the RPI, alone, or subjective perception/opinion for assessing any team's relative competitive position at any point in time. ( However, it's not omniscient/infallible in every situation. It becomes more reliable with a larger swath of a teams' results as a season matures. ).

Sorry, but D1 college hockey is such a sink-hole of resources.....very few schools play it, the season is interminably long, guys who play it are like 25 years old and hardly anyone cares......a waste overall imo.
