This program remains to be rescued by a new, innovative coach. The scholarships and facilities are outstanding, but we need a new direction that should have been implemented 6 - 8 years ago. You do not see the improvement of players under BG compared to other programs. ADNP needs to deal with this situation after hiring a new FBHC. I would add...with strong recruiting skills. If the head coach doesn't have strong recruiting skills, he needs his top assistant to possess them. Both Kelly Greenberg and Melissa Hodgson assumed that role during the glory days, seems to have been a drop-off in this department since Hodgson left. Too, other PL schools have been more competitive recruiters since they started to give out schollies, 12+ years ago - can trace the decline in HC's fortunes to that sea-change.

BG is at 592 wins after yday in his 32+ seasons. That's a very good average per season but the problem is the last decade or so as we all know. Speculation around the '600 win' figure might be correct, especially if this team barely makes if over that threshold. They have to improve over the way they played yday. the league is a combined 34-25 on ooc games so far, which is very respectable.

I have always seen the choice of skilled assistants as a recruiting skill. It is best done by all of the coaching staff.

the league is a combined 34-25 on ooc games so far, which is very respectable. Yesterday was one of the better days the PL has ever had in OOC play: Holy Cross 59 Bryant 57 Boston U 61 Boston College 57 Colgate 65 Towson 61 Bucknell 76 Canisius 57 Army 82 Yale 65 Navy 86 St Bonaventure 48 LaSalle 69 Lehigh 61 Before these wins, the PL was ranked 15th among conferences by Sagarin - despite the two preseason favorites - Army and Bucknell - having played badly.

Can't understand why people would criticize a win, especially for a team that has been struggling. Any win is a good win in college hoops.

Have been wondering about Gibbons for quite a while, however....
The team is also pretty young...98 out of the 225 minutes yesterday were played by Juniors and Seniors, 41 of them by one person. Just like the men I would expect bad outings.
