He was a terrible fit from the get-go; and Dixon's departure was a sign that the move to the ACC was, in the words of HC87, a disastah for the basketball program there.

Wonder if Tubby's son G.G. is on the hot seat now?? He "stepped down" at Loyola this morning.

Hard to figure how Kevin Nickelberry survives at Howard after a 10-23 season, his seventh 20+loss season in eight years there. Imagine there is at least one Howard alum in the coaching ranks watching with interest. . . .

Imagine there is at least one Howard alum in the coaching ranks watching with interest. . . . He led the team to a 16-16 record in 2014-15 , the only season in the past 15 when Howard did not lose 20+ games.

Imagine there is at least one Howard alum in the coaching ranks watching with interest. . . . That Howard alum is likely looking at a transition of some sort as his boss is likely to be moving up the food chain after going 26-7, winning the league and going to the dance.

Something to chew on...Will Milan Brown land a head coaching job? Loyola? Not sure why a PL school would want to hire a guy who has 1) a career losing record, and 2) already demonstrated he couldn't get it done in the PL. Milan seems primed to coach at his alma mater. What in the world is Kevin Nickleberry still doing there?

I would bet anything that Pitino wouldn’t start with 3 consecutive losing seasons, and if has less than 2 major disciplinary issues in his first 3 years, that would be an improvement over Carmody.

How about paying for recruits ? Strip parties ? Having sex on a table in a Shrewsbury St. restaurant ?

(The first two - or things very similar - happen at virtually every major school.)

LOL’d at the last line. (The first two - or things very similar - happen at virtually every major school.) So that’s what you want at HC ? That stuff wouldn’t happen at HC. I want to win. Pitino would want to restore his legacy and wouldn’t want/need to risk the things he did at Louisville. His and HC’s motivation would be aligned (assuming HC wants to win). There would obviously be a no tolerance policy for any violations, and you could argue Pitino would run a tighter ship than the current program given the transgressions of the past two years.
