After drawing 51,000 + this year in New Haven, they will sell out the 37,000 + at Fenway - the Ivies continue to spring past the PL in FCS prestige (and the on-field product) . I wish it wasn't so.

This is where HC-BC should be played if and when we can make a respectable showing. There is some serious football history. If we can't do that, we should be playing someone there, someday. Yankee Stadium was cool but too big and without the history.

Why would they leave Harvard Stadium for Fenway, a baseball field? Renovations?

The Globe readers comments are dead on about this. It sucks. Doesn't seem to be forced either.
And how the hell could you play a game commemorating Harvard beating Yale 29-29 anywhere else but where it happened?

I think renovations at Harvard Yes. The email sent out by Murphy to their boosters said; "“Due to the potential restoration work on Harvard Stadium, we will be hosting the 2018 Harvard-Yale game at Fenway Park,”

Lehigh-Lafayette drew 40,000+ at Yankee Stadium - not too bad. HC-Fordham about 24K on paper but appeared to be less. Many did not want to leave the warm comfort of the River Avenue bars.

The restoration issue makes more sense....but if that's a problem, where is Harvard playing the rest of their home games?
BU's big enough for your average Ivy crowd, then there's BC that's about it.

Harvard Stadium opened in 1903 and predates the construction of Fenway Park, completed in 1912. All other Harvard football home games will be played at Harvard Stadium in 2018, according to the Athletics Department. www.thecrimson.com/article/2017/11/30/harvard-yale-fenway/

They are playing the other games in Harvard Stadium. Since they generally only draw 10,000 a game in a 30,000 seat stadium, it is possible they can work around the renovations by shutting down part of the stadium for all of those other games.
