Rebounds do not seem very even. you have watched. Does he look 100% ? He's down 1.3 RPG from last year. Is that really significant? And yes, I've watched most of the games. He looks like the same streaky player that he was for his first two years. It's not as if he was ever a guy who took over games on a consistent basis before and is now suddenly not doing that. You do realize that 2.0 is nearly 40% below 3.3, right? That's a pretty big drop off.

Like in all sports you play as part of a lineup on the floor, a batting order etc, as well as the system being used. In the case of KC he is going through a transition of playing without two big pieces from last year and those same opportunities and match-ups he once had don't exist for him today, at least not yet.
I might be an N of 1, but adjustments or tweaks to the system and style that might be needed to fit the needs of this roster appear to be slow in coming, so for Charles to deliver or improve on past numbers he needs to get healthy and the others around him need to grow and develop for those options to reappear.
Roles for the players are still unclear, at least for certain players on this roster which is difficult when you are younger and trying so hard to earn minutes. I am not second guessing as they are coaching decisions, but with the mix of skills we have on the floor at any given time they might want to keep the same schemes (because they do work) but up the tempo a bit offensively to allow the kids some freedom and for the plays to begin to come to them more naturally- if you can relax them a bit the pace of development will improve
Rebounding in the 1-3-1 is not easy and we aren't contesting the perimeter well enough to maintain the discipline needed for this zone. IMO this is complicated because we are long enough to be a tough 1-3-1 team, and while this zone is helping control tempo it is not necessarily the best defensive option for the team at this point of their development
I guess patience is not only a virtue but a requirement for players, coaches, parents and fans.

Yes and yes. I was going to predict that very predictable response. KC’s assists are also down from last season, 3,7 to 3.1, probably also not significant enough for you to concede anything.

Yes--it's a small sample, like an NBA player who went from averaging 33 points per game in one year to averaging 20 points per game just 20 games into the next season, or a MLB player who went from batting .330 and leading the league one year to batting .200--the Mendoza line--through 40 games of the next season.

With a sample that small and a coach who doesn't value rebounding, it's hardly a significant data point. Carmody's approach concedes offensive boards, but I'm pretty sure he's unhappy at the work on the defensive glass so far - and KC's drop is even more pronounced there, down nearly two/40.

In my view KC is basically the same player that came here as a freshmen. I have seen very little growth in his game and fear the hope he will bring his game to another level is getting slimmer and slimmer.

CBC said after the LaSalle game that the hammy injury was followed by a knee issue. I think that “fine” does not = 100% If his movement was hindered by the hammy, that could have let to a knee issue. ncaam: I don't think anyone is claiming with certainly that he is still injured, just speculating (like I just did).

Watch his game, he is very limited. Can only go to left and every team we play knows that. He was more aggressive defensively as a frosh , that has fallen off. He has been thrusted into a star status, but I don’t feel he has the all around game

Coach said he was fine. He has started him in every game and played him significant minutes. If the posters who say he is injured were nht, I might give them credit. There not, so I won’t . And talk about axes to grind. Sheesh! Anyone who hung around the Sacred Heart gym after the game earlier in the season would have seen KC holding ice on his knee in the building lobby just before boarding the bus. I know ice is pretty common, but have to say I've never seen a player using ice that much later after the game, was concerning to me at the time, may mean nothing
