The PL is almost a throwback league where the game is much different and coaching styles need to reflect the talent we can attract. For the most part we get position tweeners with upside potential and therefore as a senior citizen I compare them to players that are an important part of our tradition and history. For those that didn’t enjoy those players please accept my apology for the comparisons.
That being said I would suggest the offensive talent of this group of freshmen is the best we have seen in many years regardless of the conference. To compare players on this team to Brian Reale (AB), Garry Witts (CN) , Jimmy Nairus/Tommy Seaman ( MF), Loren Davis(JG), Dwight Pernell (CG), and not sure about KC although watched him play a few years back on his AAU team the DC Blue Devils-more of a pure shooter who could have a role in this rotation in conference play.
With no senior leadership that burden falls on CG and he will be better for it over time. As I indicated in previous posts this group needs to be disciplined offensively but if they up the tempo a bit they will find greater success on both ends of the floor.

Obviously impressed with AB's line of 21 minutes, 16 pts, 4/7 3s, 2 assists, 2 steals and 0 turnovers but I also really happy to see Ziggy play well.
He was all over the place in the first half on D and believe he had 0 points in the first half but hit his FTs at the end of the game to ice it. He also had 2 rebounds and 3 assists with 0 turnovers.
As for KC, he played pretty well in the first half but I still don't think he's 100%. He seemed awful slow to cover on defense and it looked to me that CWC wasn't happy about that and if he wasn't the most experienced player might have gotten yanked.

MZ gives the balance and stability on the floor, a quality the staff and teammates should value in this style of play

4 freshmen. 18+ minutes each for the season 5 freshmen averaging 11.4 + mins each The freshman class has scored 49% of the team's points to date and I'll bet it will exceed 50% for the season. Oh, to answer the logical question that follows: they have logged 47% of the minutes

I can't overstate how nice it is to see positive details about the play of our young team after a game. Iona and Siena should be interesting...and entertaining (as the players fall back on the "A's" they got in all of their courses).
