college baseball tourney gets underway this weekend - did you know: = in addition to navy, four others hc opponents made the field: uconn / lb state / wm&mary / uri (a-10 champs who we beat) = navy got a good draw (considering some of the other venues), playing in the raleigh region with 1st round vs. nc state (35-20 record) = bc recvd an at-large bid and is in for the first time since 2009 (too bad our game with them was rained out twice) = bryant (nec champ) had an incredible year 47-10, and is nationally ranked no.25 this week = fairfield won the maac and is going for the first time in school history

BC advances out of their pod. Good for them. Why ? hard for those of us of a different era to ever wish them well

NE team w/the chance to make the CWS? I'll root for them anytime vs. the traditional baseball factories. It's also a very likable team/coach, they do a ton for ALS awareness, and they have some legit MLB prospects that are fun to watch.

i'm with you. while i took pleasure in seeing bc go winless in acc football and basketball, their performance in oxford, ms. was impressive i'll pull for them in the next round.
navy, uconn, uri and w&m played well and won at least one game before being eliminated (w&m took out defending natl champs, virginia in charlottesville !)

And BC didn't even have to play Ole Miss...URI beat South Carolina which was impressive

There is nothing likeable about bc. I hope the Eagles go winless in at least the next 50 games they play

incredible but bc is one win away from a trip to omaha after today's 5-3 win over miami which evened their series at 1 game apiece. all the pressure will be on the hurricanes tmro. baseball is so different from other sports ! arizona (picked 9th in the pac-12 preseason poll) just swept miss. state and is the 1st team to qualify for omaha. 'all' of the ranked (favored) teams, playing at home except lsu are facing elimination games

the college athletic season ends today with coastal carolina playing arizona in omaha for the baseball title. neither team was seeded in the tourney, and neither team has played a home game through the 1st two rounds of the tourney. arizona was picked 9th in the pre-season. only in baseball....
