Granderson's 3 and his 2 ft's were, of course big, but the 2nd half 3's by LeSann and Zignorski were huge (Ziggy replaced LeSann after he turned it over twice) Yes, a very nice W, but I won't go as far as to say we're looser, esp with the number of shot clock turnovers - those are inexcuseable

Could only watch the first half. We have some good freshmen. Go Cross!

This is the kind of game that we've lost over and over again over the last 2 years or more. Gutted it out. JF was spectacular not just his scoring but his rejections. Had to intimidate AU. Grandy came up big and CG seems to have gotten back into his comfort zone that he had early in the season and then lost. Any win on the road is a good one. Told you those long bus trips are an elixir!

Glad we won, but flipping around to other tv games it’s hard to believe this is considered D1 when the only ones playing who are D1 players were Nelson and Floyd. If it’s tough for traditional P.O. programs to attract legitimate recruits, then we and AU might need to water down the schedule even more.

Therefore the players on those teams are D1 players. If you want "illegitimate"recruits...look at UCLA and the Power 5.

Zero minutes for niego. Wit up wit dat. You posted this more than once and no one seemed to care either time. What's up with that? Another of your poorly hidden agendas? Having trouble finding things to help you stir things up after a win?

Have to disagree vehemently with suggestion that Floyd is the only “D-1 player” on HC squad.

I don't think these two points have been mentioned. 1. There was a rebound of that last 3 as time expired and Zignorski got a nice grip on it to keep AU from throwing up a final tap. 2. If you see a video of the game, look at the picture (one of the last in the broadcast) that showed Charles put his arms around the shoulders of Grandison and Floyd as they all left the floor together...nice!

Good win. Even helped my URI Rams. Their RPI went to #9 (from #10) tonight after the Crusader win. Holy Cross is the only OOC opponent Rhody played that does not presently have a winning record. Rhode Island currently has the #3 RPI OOC SOS due to the performance (143-73 .662) of its non league opponents. Don’t take this the wrong way, but no one here cares.

JF’s 6 blocks put him in a 13 way tie for 6th in single game blocks 12 more blocks and Jehyve will knock Rob Feaster out of the Top 10 list for career blocked shots.

Earlier post said “playing”. I’ll amend my opinion to suggest that only Nelson, JF, PB (did not play tonight) and possibly AB and MF are the only D1 players on either squad. There’s a reason both teams are so pathetically weak. And the coaching is sub D1 as well. If the academic standards weren’t increased years ago most of the roster spots in lower to mid D1 programs would be taken by JUCO kids. It’s why so many of these HC recruits are available senior year in h.s., real D1 coaches have already passed on them. (Please please please don’t retort that carmody is well respected by his colleagues as if any coach would bad mouth another coach publicly. Never happens).

Iorio is definitely a D-1 caliber player. Floyd with a fantastic game think teams will start to double more when he gets ball in post which will open things up for others if we can take advantage of it. Green seems to have snapped out of slump his scoring is really needed. Grandison didn't have much of a game till the end but seems to be a clutch player when it counts. AB never got into flow and Carmody kept him on bench as others were playing well. Two very winnable home games coming up good chance to get on a little roll.

Per the article, it says: "Larry Motuzis (17 points) of American missed a shot from the baseline and the ball went of bounds to HC with 14.4 seconds left." I think it should have read: "Larry Motuzis (17 points) of American took a wide open three point shot from the baseline that totally overshot the basket, hit zippo, and the ball went of bounds to HC with 14.4 seconds left." Can't remember a player missing a wide open three at a key moment BY THAT MUCH . Nice win, saders. Let's build on this with a solid Winter Homecoming win on Saturday.

Wow, all these non players, and yet we beat Harvard with all their top recruits, and play URI even for a half. We must have a whiz bang coach!

Looking at my flightaware app, the 6 AM flight from Reagan National left ten minutes early, and arrives at Logan 20 minutes early. Might not even miss an early class!
