The team had dinner last night in Roslyn, Va and a workout today. Should have a decent crowd for the game

we often talk abt the team's travel when there's only one day between games -Usually the team would fly to American for a Wed or Sat game, but it looks like the team bused from Lewisburg Sat afternoon to D.C., and will endure the long bus ride home after the game tonight ?

Long bus rides seemed to work out very well in the PL tournament 2 years ago.

I hope to see HC push the ball as they did in the 1st half of the Army game. Does American have anybody who can hold Floyd in check? Lots to prove coming off the Bucknell game!
GO CROSS GO!!!

News, Notes, and Storylines from American website:
SCOUTING THE EAGLES- Sa'eed Nelson led the Eagles with 15 points in a career-low 23 minutes before fouling out midway through the second half. - Larry Motuzis had 11 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists in 39 minutes before picking up his final foul in the last minute of play. - Due to Nelson's foul trouble, James Washington added a season-best 32 minutes and nine points for the Eagles. - American has is 3-8 overall and 1-5 in the Patriot League in games decided by 10 or fewer points.
SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS - Jehyve Floyd leads a balanced Holy Cross offense, averaging 10.7 points per game. Floyd also leads the team in rebounds (5.5) per game. - Karl Charles started out the season with 23 points at Sacred Heart and is second on the team at 9.9 points per game. - Like American, Holy Cross is a young team. The Crusaders have three freshmen in the top-5 in team scoring ā Caleb Green (8.7), Austin Butler (8.3) and Jacob Grandison (7.0). - Holy Cross had the opportunity to play in the Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic in early December and met Manhattan and La Salle.
LAST TIME OUT: The Eagles held a 29-22 edge at halftime, but Lafayette chipped away at the deficit. The Leopards pulled even at 40-40 on a jumper by Klinewski with 8:42 left. The game was tied at 48-48 with 4:00 to play, but the Eagles trailed the rest of the way as Lafayette hit 10 free throws in the final 1:55 to preserve the win. American honored the 10th anniversary of its first Patriot League men's basketball championship in a halftime ceremony.
TOP LEAGUE SCORERS ON DISPLAY: Sa'eed Nelson is second in the Patriot League in scoring this season, averaging 18.0 points. Sam Iorio is tall and big 6ā7ā Iorio looks like the front-runner for RoY. He's averaging about 14 and 9 in conference play with three double-doubles. Their soph big man, Mark Gasperini, apparently was on the bench for their last game, but is not expected to play any time soon, as he continues his long recovery from a pre-season concussion. Brennan has some history of making do with under-sized lineups. A few years ago, AU beat Lehigh (with Kempton) in the PLT, and made it to the finals, using 6-4 walk-on Charlie Jones at center.

Before I watch any tv sports, I always want to check out the national rankings of the two teams. No, wait, that plays no bearing at all, since I am a fan of the teams I follow and watch them whenever possible. I guess the posters who see the relative rank as important will not be watching.

Well, they did beat BU. I think the first 5-8 minutes will tell us a lot about the outcome tonight. A string HC start on offense - the Crusaders are off and running. A 5 to 8 minutes with each side looking for a point (any point) and HC is in trouble. A strong AU start and it could be a very long night for the Cross. GO CROSS GO...RIGHT AWAY!

A 5 to 8 minutes with each side looking for a point (any point) and HC is in trouble. Hopefully, we won't be treated to a replay of the game at AU two years ago, when AU led at the half, 16-15, both teams shooting a sizzling 29% in the stanza. May have been the worst 20 minutes of D1 basketball I ever saw.

Great diving hustle play by Butler on the loose bound gives Jehyve a second chance to score.
