Navy, 40-11, at the half. There are more folks on line here than there are at the game. And what a show!

Grandison airballs a contested 3 with 15 seconds left when we should have held for the last shot, and HC is down 29 at the half at home to #249 who is without their best player.
Hard to believe that Tom Gilmore was the guy who got fired in the middle of the season this year.

Holy Cross made more free throws (5) than FGs (3).

Have the announcers even once mentioned KC's absence? It's like Foxboro....

Only half I can remember that rivals this was the second half of the Lehigh game at the Hart during the Kearney season. The Lehigh players were laughing on the bench. There was a meet and greet after the game that was like a wake. This certainly compares with it.

Never have I been so glad I decided not to go to an HC game. This is brutal.

3-19; 0-11 from 3 point range, several air balls.
Maybe Floyd was a slight plus, everyone else a big minus.

Navy normally takes just 35% of their shots from three and make 32% - 46% of FGA tonight from deep, making 50%. Like watching the same bad movie over and over again.

We have three miscreants missing tonight. We had a miscreant shipped out last year. I know PP mentions often that our A.D. and our coaches are judged primarily by the character and academic excellence of our players. Guess what? Nate Pine and Bill Carmody are both failing, badly.

I don't think I can ever remember a worse half of basketball for Holy Cross but I wasn't around for the Raynor years. An absolute lid on the basket, poor passing and total lethargy.
With no sign of Charles or Stevens on the bench, I have to wonder about the posts on the other thread. And whatever the reason for their physical absence, perhaps it has had a psychological effect on the players who are there in body but not in spirit.
Interesting Fr. B is there as I don't recall seeing him at any men's basketball games all year.
All we can hope for is that our shots gravitate to the mean in the second half and our loss looks respectable as I think we are already too far gone to have any possibility for a win.

All stats are ugly. We are shooting under 16% from the floor (0 for 11 from three pt range). Behind on turnovers (9 to 5), steals (3 to 5), rebounds (10 to 20) and the list goes on. We seem to be off in almost every category. This is a lot more than the coach...although that certainly fits some agendas. I want to see what they can do in the second half. Clearly the shooting has to get better. Can HC make any sort of run?

I turned the game on at 16-9, about 6 minutes in. Still have yet to watch us make a FG. I counted exactly one offensive possession in 14 minutes that was well executed - Butler getting the ball inside to Floyd, who drew a double team before whipping a pass out to Ziggy, who clanked on a three point attempt with about 3 min left.

Nate Pine did not recruit these players. Nate has done more for HC compared to what the previous AD did. I do believe that the game has passed Carmody by. Time for a young coach who can motivate these athletes.

I don't think the announcers can talk about the absent players (if they are, indeed, suspended) until the school makes an official announcement on the situation.

Sure with a younger coach those open 3 point shots won’t rim out.

Need to treat the second half like it's a new game. Pretend it's a HS scrimmage where the score gets reset to zero after each quarter.

Let's see if we can outscore Navy (Navy's substitutes, likely) in the second half by 10+ points.... If we can't win let's make it a 70-52 loss

With no KC (who is the team leader even when his offense is not working) has to be a real psychological blow to the team. Let’s hope they can work through it and have a respectable second half.

With no KC (who is the team leader even when his offense is not working) has to be a real psychological blow to the team. Navy doesn't have their best player and is playing at a venue where they've lost 18 of last 19. They seem to be dealing with it.

We're stepping up pressure in half-court, but Navy ready for it, passing quickly and crisply. Jehyve, for about the fourth time tonight, goes flying out to the arc to try to contest a three. WHY?

As bad as the offense is tonight, the defense is just downright depressing. No improvement over the course of the year.
