What I see is that we have improved on every aspect to get the ball into our offensive end - FOs, goalie play, clears and outstanding defense. The coach definitely seems to have a set offense for these young athletic men. Move the ball, run to space, shoot when you get your hands free. With quick sticks and multiple shooting threats, the goals should begin to fall. Seems like it will be a tough team to defend against if you can't concentrate on one to two star players. Good to have a tough opening schedule, lets the boys see where they need to be to be successful.

The women were soundly beaten at Fairfield 14-5 on Saturday. As with the men, the PL is stronger than the MAAC in lax, but like the men's team, a lot of their offense graduated in 2017. They play at BC tmro which is akin to our women's basketball team playing UCONN. BC was the national runnerup last spring and won at Notre Dame on Saturday.

Fairfield is in the CAA for lacrosse, at least for men's. Usually a strong team.

BC’s best player is in the middle of her hockey season so that is a positive. I am shooting the lax game so I will have some shots for you guys

Fairfield is in the CAA for lacrosse, at least for men's. Usually a strong team. They haven't been quite as strong in recent years but still a formidable program that plays in a very tough league. Though only 6 teams, top to bottom the CAA is very tough.

No, according to the broadcast schedule released last week (maybe all of our equipment will be in the Hart for the noon bball game vs. bucknell) UVM is already 3-0 and clobbered Fairfield last weekend (before our women's game there) - will be a tough one for us

However, when you look on the Patriot League Network site, it lists our game, so it may still happen I suppose...

Though only 6 teams, top to bottom the CAA is very tough. Despite a down year, they did manage to beat national semifinalist Towson last year during the regular season. I was actually at that game as my cousin was the goalie for Towson last year.
I believe the Crusaders won our last game against Fairfield a couple years back.

For those who pay attention, were all of the players expected to see significant field time this year playing last weekend?

21 of 28 on the BC roster are from New England and New York. Either great recruiting, or great coaching or some of both to get them where they are.
Notre Dame's roster has one from New England, and two from the Midwest.

Justin Lynskey with the winner - wasn't it two years ago we lost in double ot at Harvard after leading for basically the entire game ? Believe this might be our first win over the Johnnies
gutsy win after that UVM debacle

We all know the reliability of pre season polls True, but not a lot of data points this early to figure out how good or not Harvard is likely to be. The other data point is that they beat UMass-Lowell 10-9 in their first game. UMass-Lowell was picked to finish dead last in America East.

Is an America East poll any more ot less reliable than the Ivy poll ?
