It is quite clear that if a coaching change is made after this season Ann McInerny should not be considered. She has done nothing to distinguish herself as a viable replacement. Her assistance with recruiting has been average. Its time for a fresh face and new ideas.

Who was it that got off to an undefeated start when CTG was dealing with that legal issue? I thought it was Ann.

Well lets look at the big picture. She is primary recruiter. I wouldn't say the recruiting classes are stellar. Usually when a program has been trending down for multiple years with the same staff its time to clean house.

Agree, Ann has brought very little to this program since she arrived - if you look at who we are recruiting, these are very average D.1 prospects. In reading the telegram article, it looks like the pressure for no.600 is getting to Gibbons (and his family). the team twitter page always has a video of gibbons after the games (win or lose) with comments - but last night, nothing.
Colgate on Feb 24 is certainly the best chance for a W, but the 'gate won their 1st league game last night upsetting Lehigh on the road. So nothing will come easy for this team and they'll have to play better to have any success.

Her assistance with recruiting has been average. Its time for a fresh face and new ideas. It was always in my mind a questionable hire, given the high-profile problems she had at Maine - seemed more a matter of BG taking care of an old pal from the 'hood than finding a good, hungry young go-getter. Gibbons' unusual angst about #600 also strikes me as curious for somebody on whom there is probably little pressure from above - more understandable if he feels he has to get it this year because he's unsure about next.

If BG doesn't get 600 this year it puts the administration in a very awkward position on how to proceed. Do you keep him around just to get 1 more victory or do you send him on his way.

IMO the problem with HC is they remain with the status quo with coaches, in several instances, long after the horses have left the barn. Get his 600 this year and then start fresh with new blood.

jouts, I have to agree. This is a man who climbed onto a cafeteria table during a student meal to ask HC students to come out and support his athletes and HC's (the students') team. I hope he gets to celebrate #600 and then to move on.

I doubt Nate Pine cares too much at this point what Gibbons' career win total is. Would be very surprised if that's in his job description and what he's evaluated on at year end

Lou, I agree. I just feel that I would like him to get this one last positive in light of all he has done for the Cross. Did anyone say it might be used to evaluate him and his performance at the end of the season?
