Not very informative, but there's just too many teams stacked at the bottom to go through every scenario.
I'm going to post something detailed tomorrow when the picture is a lot clearer

Looks like Army, Loyola, and will finish bottom three - BU, Lafayette, and HC scrum to stay out of the PIG.

What do we need to do to avoid Bucknell and Lehigh in the round of 8?

Would you prefer Navy?

Well, this just got a lot easier
With a win, HC finishes 6th. They cannot move up
With a loss. . ..
HC finishes 6th if Lafayette loses at Lehigh HC finished 7th if Lafayette beats Lehigh
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you're thinking about quarter final match-ups
Colgate finishes 2nd with a win OR a loss combined with a Lehigh loss OR a loss combined with both Navy and Lehigh win
Colgate finishes 3rd with a loss combined with a Lehigh win and a Navy loss ---------
Navy finishes 3rd with a win OR a loss combined with a Lehigh loss
-----------
Lehigh finishes 2nd with a win combined with Colgate and Navy both losing
Lehigh finishes 3rd with a win combined with a Navy loss

According to the PL website, looking at tonight's games,
"Holy Cross (7-9 PL): The Crusaders cannot clinch a first-round bye based on the results on Wednesday, but can clinch a first-round home game with a win over American or a loss by either Loyola Maryland or Army West Point."
Home game on Tuesday?

It's either a home game against AU again on Tuesday (if we lose Saturday and Lafayette wins).......or a game at the #3 seed on Thursday (if either we win Sat or Lafayette loses).

A chance at redemption for HC with a win over Navy?

Home game on Tuesday? Poor wording. Last night they clinched the fact that they will not have to travel for an 8-9 match-up. See above. HC will be a 6 or 7 seed. If 7 they will face American Quarterfinal match-up (as either a 6 seed or a triumphant 7 seed) will come from the group of Colgate, Lehigh, and Navy

My review of the standings indicates that with a win and a Laf loss HC gets a bye. Am I wrong?
If we don’t get a bye, even better, considering the more games this team plays the better they get!

HC gets the 6th seed (and it's bye) with a win over Colgate OR a Lafayette loss at Lehigh. They don't need both to happen

I may be selfish but the more chances I get to watch this team, the better I like it. I am happy whatever the matchup...after we beat Colgate.

That's what I thought. Either an HC win or a Laf loss. No one wants to meet HC in this tournament. We can beat anyone in the league at this point.

Actually, no one wants to meet Lehigh. Death. Taxes. Nobody wanting to play Dr. Brett Naismith - I mean Reed.

Actually, no one wants to meet Lehigh. Death. Taxes. Nobody wanting to play Dr. Brett Naismith - I mean Reed. Bad coach. Good recruiter. That's indisputable. They have won seven straight games, one of which was against Bucknell. They have enough talent to win the league.

Seems like our clear preferred scenario is to get the #6 seed, and get Lehigh into the #2 spot.
To do that requires we win at Gate. If we lose at Gate, we can still get #6 with some help, but Lehigh can't get to #2.
(Not that I think we should be all that terrified of Lehigh in a 3-6 game. We played them tough both times. They're peaking at the right time... but so are we.)

I'd like to see Lehigh be the 4 seed at Bucknell in semis

I'd like to see Lehigh be the 4 seed at Bucknell in semis Good call, especially if we get 6 in that scenario. Looks like that can happen, since Navy swept Lehigh in the regular season. If I have this right: - Lehigh WINS a 3-way tie with Gate/Navy by virtue of being the only one of the three to beat Bucknell - Lehigh WINS a 2-way tie with Gate only, for the same reason (they split H2H) - Lehigh LOSES a 2-way tie with Navy because Navy swept the H2H series.
