Just askin....should their pedigree be based on where they were born or where they play high/prep/AAU?

Just askin....should their pedigree be based on where they were born or where they play high/prep/AAU? No question the prep schools of high and not so high repute have siphoned off the talent that would have been playing at one of the NYC public or Catholic high schools a generation ago. I think that's true just about anywhere, and more so when a large percentage of the schools they would have matriculated to are not very nice places.

I think most of the top HS age kids now go to prep schools. I see it in the Worcester area all the time. The Prep schools are now getting to be feeder schools for the D-1 programs. It all goes to time and money in recruiting. A college coach can go to a prep game and see a group of prospects in one game, instead of seeing one player in a HS game...The same goes for AAU..

It will be interesting to see if Greg Anthony's son, Cole, a rising soph at Archbishop Molloy, a strong school, and one of the top players in the country, remains there. Somewhat also true for his rising junior teammate, 7' Moses Brown it is not only the prep schools that take the best inner city kids, but the Oak Hill and Montverde types
