So is the building officially opened or has the CO from the local authorities yet to be issued?

The top photo shows a lift inside the building, but I think that is still there for punch list items. I haven't recently seen workers inside the building, but the webcam doesn't give a view of the west side.
I would expect there would be a ribbon cutting at some point, and unveiling the name on the marquee.
I do expect Holy Cross to begin moving stuff in before Christmas. The courts are to be HC's testing site, and I would think that should be operational by the first week of January.

As recent as a week or 2 ago, I did see the lift extended up by the scoreboard with a worker doing something in that area. Not sure what the composition of the floor is, but it is tan/beige, definitely not hardwood. Each time going by there have been several (4 - 6) vehicles parked in the area on the west side of the building.

The surface is probably synthetic. I have seen hoops backboards for only one court in the photos. It may be the second court also can be used for tennis or volleyball. There are electronic scoreboards.

From the webcam this morning, a new floor has been installed on most of the courts area. I think this has to do with The Jo courts being used as the college's test site. Also, the man lift inside The Jo may be for installing additional temporary tubing for better air circulation. Would not surprise if a temporary air circulation system was installed in Kimball. HC may also be installing a UV-C system. See this description about UV-C use at one of San Francisco's finest restaurants, Atelier Crenn www.ateliercrenn.com/safety/

I received the 2021 Holy Cross Calendar today. The month of April has a picture of the running track of the recreation center. Happy to see it is purple with white lane markings.

From the webcam this morning, it appears as if they have hung six podium banners by the east entrance to The Jo. With the decrepitude of age, my eyes are not good enough to read what's inscribed! I wonder if there are going being to be memorial plaques or busts put there.

It took me quite awhile but I was finally able to figure out what the six banners said, filling in some letters that were obscured as the banners fluttered in the breeze. They say
Pak Phreek Please Stop The Snooping
I disagree totally with that admonition, but felt I should at least report what I learned...

If indeed the banners are commemorative of individuals, I wonder who they might be? Fr. Hart? renowned HC athletes? the college's Medal of Honor recipients? M LK?

Prior to the renovation of the Hart there was a display dedicated to Fr Hart memorabilia.

Prior to the renovation of the Hart there was a display dedicated to Fr Hart memorabilia. Sadly that was broken into before the renovation. The glass on the case was shattered and his leather jacket (that he wore on all cool days down on Freshman Field for intramural)was stolen. The trophies he held were still there and were moved, but I am not sure where. I do wish they could restore that small display...IMHO it was excellent.

What sickness must corrupt someone's mind to prompt that person to break into a display case and steal an old jacket.?

I don't know. The building was often open and the case was unguarded. As you say, it was for most just an old jacket, but for those of us who knew and worked with Fr Hart it meant a good deal more. I had a couple of friends try to trace it, but no luck.
(There was even a small reward for its return with "no questions asked." No luck with that either.)

Even more bizarre and sick was an event that occurred in March of 1973, when the heart of Brother Andre was stolen from a reliquary at St. Joseph’s Oratory in Montreal. Fortunately the heart of St. Andre Bessette was recovered in December of 1974. www.sacredheartcos.org/who-is-st-andre-bessette.htmlen.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/André_Bessette

A quasi tour of the courts area of The Jo. The carpet is temporary while the courts are used as the testing site of the college.

Interesting point from the video.....
Everyone will be required to test twice a week. If not, your badge will not allow you into certain buildings.

He returned each year to make a pilgrimage to the Oratory, going up the stairs on his knees while praying. It's an amazing place.

The principal of St Joseph Regional High School in NJ always made the point that the correct name of the school was "St Joseph" and that it would be "St Joseph's" once the saint started making the monthly payments on the building. .
