Not an easy decision: Marian Central's Janelle Allen, a 6-foot-1 junior, had nine D-I offers, but it wasn't until she found Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, that she felt at ease.
Allen, whose offers included Illinois State, Bradley, Alabama-Birmingham and St. Louis, said the process of choosing a school was difficult. She committed to Holy Cross before the start of the high school season.
"It was definitely rough. It was a struggle, and it was frustrating," Allen said. "I know I wanted to play at the next level, and I love it out there. The coaches are nice, and everything is beautiful."
Allen said she was looking to go out of state and preferred a smaller school.
"Coming from a private school my whole life, it was easier to choose Holy Cross," Allen said. "It's a smaller school, but that part stuck out to me. The coaches and everyone there went above and beyond for me."
