If there is a showcase season, it sounds like it won't be until August, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Unless there is someone out there who's clearly better than their standard recruit; I'd say to invest in incoming 2021s versus 2020s. Would rather be assured of 4 years of a player and not 3.

Highlights look promising. One thing I noticed is that it looked like she always finished with her right hand, even when going left. Would be good to be able to finish with either hand.

Jerry West and Hondo almost always drove and finished right

Jerry West and Hondo almost always drove and finished right Then maybe it doesn’t matter. I have been forcing my eldest to finish with his left hand when we play after dinner every night. He’s gotten much better at it after a few months.

I did the same with my sons and grandsons. Unless you are another West or Havlicek, it is important.

I did the same with my sons and grandsons. Unless you are another West or Havlicek, it is important. It makes a huge difference. The kids who can go either way in youth basketball have a huge advantage. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until my third that I made him use his left early. The older two are still catching up due to my poor dad-coaching.

How does the incoming recruiting class compare to previous years? How do we think we’ll perform next season? Just trying to gauge expectations.

We did not out-recruit any significant school for any of our recruits although they all seem to have potential to have decent careers - but unlikely to be difference makers as frosh we're losing 4 starters and 5 of the top 7 players off-season workouts with the returners and the new coach will be critical - but it's likely they won't happen and that's a big negative as far as next season goes - let's just say 'keep your expectations modest'

These basketballs look deflated. Probably bought them at Tom Brady's yard sale before he moved to Florida. Our recruit looks fierce and driven. 6'1" was the height of both Amy O'Brien and Lauren Manis and they owned the PL. Hope she is explosive going to the hoop like they were.

How does the incoming recruiting class compare to previous years? How do we think we’ll perform next season? Just trying to gauge expectations. This class is a bit unusual. 3 of the players committed early, before the start of their junior seasons, particularly McCormack, who committed in July, 2018, Davis in August or September, Allen I think later in that Fall.At the time of her commitment, Allen had several offers, including Illinois State, Bradley, St Louis, UAB & UMissouriKC. Power-Cassidy was much more recent, just in December. and although had only one known offer, does have a pretty good resume as to her international play. Off hand, I'd say this class has a lot of potential if they can stay injury free. That said, they are going to be young and inexperienced, and as Haze pointed out, they lost 5 of their first 7. and the remaining returning players are all coming off injuries that severely limited their playing time last year. There is no question they are in full rebuilding mode, I suspect all the Frosh will see significant minutes in the OCC and hopefully will be ready by league play. I suspect we will see a lot of 4 guard play unless either or both Demski & Murphy can contribute significant mins at the 5, if not, HC will be pretty small upfront.

What’s with dribbling basketballs in grocery store plastic bags? Is this a recognized ball-handling training thing?

Kyrie Irving made the ball in the plastic bag drill popular with the kids. Here’s the rationale for it: Irving says he got the idea from watching a Baron Davis documentary in which he saw the two-time NBA All-Star use the trick to train his ball-handling. The plastic bag does a few things that makes dribbling more difficult. One, it makes the ball more slippery. Two, it reduces the bounce of the ball off the floor. Three, the ball will take unpredictable bounces, especially with the knot tied to keep the bag on. Generally speaking, the tighter the bag's tied on the ball, the less difficulty and unpredictably added. The looser, the greater. www.stack.com/a/kyrie-irving-plastic-bag-dribbling-drill
