June 15th began the period during which coaches could begin to contact prospective 2018 recruits. NERR reports that we have reached out to Calvin Whipple, a 6-3 SG from Northfield Mount Hermon - ranked 26th overall in the class in New England, showed well in last week's Zero Gravity tournament. He's also heard from Yale, Brown, BU, Colgate, and a couple others. No offer yet. Here's his page: www.newenglandrecruitingreport.com/recruits/calvin-whipple-2018Last September, we extended a 2018 offer to Jared Whitt, a 6-8 C/F playing at Worcester Academy.

Whitt's dad played a little college ball (Umass and somewhere before that), but not very well...not that the son wouldn't be a good player.

PP- Did you ever hear of the term "nephew?"

PP- Did you ever hear of the term "nephew?" The lengthy Pittsburgh newspaper profile on the recruiting process for this kid made no reference to an Uncle Bill. One can fairly assume that if there was even a third or even fourth degree relationship, mention would have been made.

No articles on the kid or his father, who has been coaching HS in Western PA for many years, have ever mentioned CBC.

I thought we had no scholarships for 2018?

I thought we had no scholarships for 2018? I believe that became the case in August when we filled all potential open scholarships with 2017s. Prior to that, there was the possibility that we would hold one or more scholarships for 2018. That's why this thread was dormant from July 13 until the recent Robby Carmody posts.

Let's just say for the sake of argument that TC has left school for NYC homesickness. Worcester, no there there compared to home.
Whom do we recruit?

Let's just say for the sake of argument that TC has left school for NYC homesickness. Better idea: let's not speculate or get into hypotheticals. Everyone else on this board is leaving it alone, 70. Follow along.

Every HC student paying the full cost or partial cost of their education is subsidizing the cost of TC's education for him......jes sayin.

I think a more realistic hypothetical is will Perkins come back? He's suffered two major injuries in three years....that has to be devastating.

MP is coming back. Far along in recovery process since sling has been gone for a while.
Unexplained extended absence more problematic for TC.

Is MP expected to see any action this year...or is he out for the year?

From many and various sources inside the Hart . . . he is out for the season.

Feel badly for Marcellis. He has had a very tough road thus far from a health perspective. Would like to see what he could do in the Carmody system. Best wishes to him for a full recovery that allows him to see some time next year.
