Ng's winning kick was shown on ESPN's one hour college football recap show late Saturday and repeated on Sunday. So many clutch plays in that game by HC - Congrats to all players and coaches Up to 48,000+ views. That's more than HC's total home attendance will be this year. __________________________ Re; Stadium's feed. The network? buffering problems of last year appear to have been addressed. The Channel 3 broadcast was also much better: I believe it was ACTP who mentioned in the past that the station was using older (and now obsolete) technology.

I am also happy to report that RSIG did not bother us on the baseball field for once! Now, let's see if that changes with the larger crowds but so far, so good.

The Channel 3 broadcast was the Stadium feed.

I hope that you are correct. But, as we know, it does not always work that way. I remember a Bucknell upset that no one seemed able to explain.at the time. 2009? I remember it too well. Team was flat after winning the league the week before.

I checked the box scores on goholycross.com. They go back as far as the 2004 season. In none of those victories did we overcome a 21 point deficit. This is clearly the biggest comeback in many, many years--perhaps decades. Maybe the website will investigate and let us know. I'll guess that this is among the top 3 or 4 biggest comebacks (i.e. largest deficit overcome) of the past 50 seasons. I would be interested to know where this ranks in terms of largest deficits overcome. This game had some similarities to our game in Easton in 2008. We were flat for most of the game, but then somehow pulled it out in the 4th quarter. Will we be talking about Wade to Gilliam like we do with Randolph to Koster?

I'd write someone in the athletic department to check on this "biggest comeback" question, but, looking through the directory, I don't see any job title that jumps out at me. Maybe Charles Bare???

Charles Bare would probably be the right person. He is Director of Media Relations and has specific responsibility for football.

Sure. But Wade to Dorsey was one of more spectacular catches we've seen in quite some time. While that ball was in the air I thought he had no chance of reaching it

Which one of you guys was the 70 year old taunting the Yale players? I may have a new hero.

Can someone breakdown what happened with Miles hitting the wall or bench? Was this following a run, as he was going out of bounds?

Miles was running left and making good yardage. Yale player pushed him to get him out of bounds. He started the contact while Miles was perhaps a foot or at most 2 from the sideline but maintained the contact to be sure he went out. Tough play and while the Yale defender might have been called for a flag, IMHO, it was a good no call.

Can someone breakdown what happened with Miles hitting the wall or bench? Was this following a run, as he was going out of bounds? The defender pushed him out of bounds and Alexander was moving too fast to stop before the bench. He looked to "bail" out by getting down/sliding, but the side of his head smacked the bench. The hit/push was clean (in bounds), but the Yale bench all jumped out of the way instead of putting a hand out to stop him/slow him down. I would not put it past those elitist prigs that they failed to intervene on purpose. Any other team would have stuck out a hand or tried to slow him down by catching him, if for no other reason than to talk smack or get in a quick gut punch. It is more dirty to let him eat bench IMO.

Not sure - he was coming in pretty hot on that play. I think the Yale guys probably got out of the way on that basis (not wanting to get rammed). Regardless, improvements are long overdue on the sidelines. Used to be solid patch of concrete which was like a skating rink. At least that’s gone. But the narrow margin and benches make it a perpetual hazard. I don’t think HC should wait for a major injury to happen, especially with the speed of the game always increasing.

The thing that makes watching a game at Fitton Field so great, (you are right on top of the action), is a major problem when it comes to player safety. They should probably pad the entire sideline.

Don't recall any concrete patch anywhere on the field at Fitton.
Regardless, this has happened before over decades at Fitton. The refurbishment of Fitton in 1986 eliminated the chain link fence that encompassed the entire field. Twas replaced by the aluminum/metal façade that exits today ( now with HC branding ). Some baseball outfield wall type padding should cover that façade all around.
Item #236 for Nate Pine on his 'to do' list for Fitton Field.

Hard to believe that "update" to Fitton was done over three decades ago! When will we be able to bite the bullet and properly update the stadium? Are there plans drawn up now as to what they want to eventually do? Would it be one huge update (probably financially out of reach) or would it be done in small steps (often more costly in the long run)?

joe is correct. There was a concrete patch by the bench, and your cleats were like ice skates when you hit that (usually it was covered up with astroturf like rug)

It would be a huge monetary undertaking to "update" the stadium..Every part of it would have to be brought up to current disability codes..( and only for 5 Saturdays in the fall....)

joe is correct. There was a concrete patch by the bench, and your cleats were like ice skates when you hit that (usually it was covered up with astroturf like rug) There was also a very unforgiving, long, 2or 3 tiered wooden bench on the home sideline for many years. Very lucky no one was seriously hurt in a play like the one involving Alexander on Saturday.
