Nice to see those awesome Monday at 7:00 and Sunday at Noon time slots are back for another year of what are sure to be highly attended and highly rated games!
It is tough to think of worse times for games than those two.
Does anyone in the league or at the league office actually pay attention to how bad this television contract is?

Better than nothing, but I am not a fan of them either. Bring back the Saturday men's/women's double-headers!

bbc, you make it sound like PL basketball is some sort of draw and that there are actually ratings for our games. the ratings needle doesn't even flicker when one of our games is on cable. Get a grip, do you really think the league has any leverage when talking about time slots? if you want the games to be telecast, you take the times that CBSSN gives us.

We should be on ESPN3. More people would watch a game on this online platform than they currently do on CBSSN.

Get a grip, do you really think the league has any leverage when talking about time slots? if you want the games to be telecast, you take the times that CBSSN gives us. Then tell CBSSN to screw and play games at times that will actually produce some atmosphere - either on Friday night (anyone remember when we actually had good teams and played in front of some raucous crowds in the Friday at 9:00 time slot?), or on Saturday afternoon or evening -- all times that students and fans may actually attend. Sunday at Noon and Monday at 7:00 are the worst possible times to play games and try to draw students. The PL gets nothing out of this CBSSN package.

Well of course not! We are NOT in the entertainment business. Bet this is the first time time you've heard that and comes as a big surprise to you.

Speaking of that, SoV, I've noticed a change in the replay offerings on ESPN3, and was wondering if there was mention of this earlier. Sunday nights traditionally have been ESPN3 Night for me, during football and basketball seasons. In addition to replays of the games that originally appeared on the 3, most all of the games from the other ESPN networks were offered as free replays. I love to watch bits and pieces of all kinds of games. But, so far this football season, there have been very few games on - only a few original broadcasts, and very few replays from all the other stations (unless you want to pay for a replay!) What gives.....how am I going to get my WCC/Big West fix this winter??

You can fit the number of viewers watching PL inter-league games in a phone booth regardless of the platform.

The Patriot League schedule is favorable to HC regarding being away from campus during the second semester after classes begin in January.

You can fit the number of viewers watching PL inter-league games in a phone booth regardless of the platform. Yeah so what’s the logic in putting the games in (a) awful time slots and (b) on a network that significantly restricts distribution access via streaming?

I would take watching ESPN the Ocho through an app versus these whack times slots any day.
Doe anyone remember the Lehigh game in January of 2007 at 9PM on a Friday night? Epic atmosphere at the Hart. I believe that game was on ESPNU.
I did just switch from FiOs to Optimum effective tomorrow. The PL contract with CBSS was admittedly a small factor in the decision.

I don't remember the last time I saw an actual phone booth On a side note - the disappearance of the traditional phone booth has become an issue with some reporters for the Daily Planet

I thought the women's coaches wanted to get away from the doubleheaders. They wanted their own identitiy... I heard from administrators that all men’s coaches opposed the doubleheader’s. Hard for four teams to have adequate shootaround times, less warmup time, and no certainty as to exact start time. Also heard all but one women’s coaches wanted the doubleheader’s. Gibbons was reportedly the one.

What's wrong with 7PM on Monday ? What's wrong? It's the time we got so, ipso facto, it is a bad time What's good about it? For students, it's typically the busiest day/night of the week catching back up on work and working on assignments for the current week. For families, it's not a good night to have young kids out at a game when they won't be getting back home until after 9. Love to hear what you think is good about a Monday at 7 or Sunday at Noon for Patriot League basketball games -- especially when the only "benefit" is being on a network that has next to no viewership.

I have no problem with Monday nights. Going back to earlier days of ESPN, Big Monday was a showcase event for the channel. A televised Big East match-up followed by a televised Big 10 match-up. I've been used to the concept for years.
I'm not a fan of Sundays, especially through January since it conflicts with the Patriots. If they have to play on a Sunday, I'm less annoyed with the noon start if the Pats have the 4:00 game
