I stand appropriately corrected. I am anxiously awaiting Dave's "vigorous" support of our Crusaders in the coming season.

If the Hart crowds ever get as pathetic as that crowd was that night, then I hope someone does forceably remove me from the premises!

Kind of surprising that a kid from Michigan has a favorite athlete from Louisiana who died a decade before he was born

Pistol Pete had an aura that was truly special. His ability to score points was incredible. I can see how that could appeal to one of today's players (and there are films of many of his games). Of course. Pete thought of teamwork only from time to time and I am not sure he ever thought of defense.

Pistol was a great, inventive passer He averaged 5.4 assists per game, over 6 until his minutes were reduced in his last year’s, for his pro career along with his 24 ppg.
Definitely thought of teamwork when he was a Celtic even while averaging a staggering record 44.2 ppg ( 10 ppg higher than second place Austin Carr) in college, he still averaged over 5 apg

Perhaps more unusual is a big man having a guard as his idol. Perhaps BV was once a guard who then experienced a massive growth spurt....

A Faw/Verbeek battle for hitting the most 3s (or having the best 3 point shooting percentage) could be fun to watch!

Perhaps more unusual is a big man having a guard as his idol. Perhaps BV was once a guard who then experienced a massive growth spurt.... Many bigs envision themselves as guards, and guards see themselves as bigs ain't that the truth! especially young bigs who envision themselves as guards side of it. i personally wish more young bigs would focus on producing around the bucket offensively, but as long as they can defend and rebound, it is certainly desirable to have a big who can stretch the floor. we've got several of them and it is going to be fun to watch how it plays out, especially when you consider how physical/aggressive some of our guards and wings are (butler, benzan, hargis, pridgen next year). we have a roster that is going to create some very difficult matchups for opponents as we mature.

Not too surprising. I am sure that Chris loved Pistol’s passing.ability shown rarely but dynamically. Chris played far more D in one half than Pete played in his career.
