Colgate up 24-0 3rd quarter over a Cornell team that beat Harvard. Tells us both how good Colgate is and how bad Harvard is.
The Raiders look just head & shoulders better than Cornell. Would love to see Colgate/Dartmouth as they look similar.

I don't think Harvard is "bad" this year...certainly not one of Murphy's bettah squads but they lost at Cornell (a game they were up 10 in the 4th) and lost a close one to a pretty good URI team this year. They handled San Diego and Brown very easily for the most part.

Colgate defends PL honor against Ivy Cornell, 31-0.
Fordham going to win going away vs. Lehigh 43-14. Can't tell if the Rams have caught their stride . . . . they look great, or Lehigh is just a poor team. We'll find out in a couple of weeks.

Non-PL related but the crowd at Alumni Stadium is terrible for a Homecoming game....we had a much biggah crowd there....maybe it's the weather, Sox game etc...most are probably tailgating but this was a close game well into the 4th Q...Eagles are going to prevail sadly

Before today, out of 124 teams, Lehigh was ranked 111 in the FCS for total offense, and 115 on total defense. Pathetic.
HC through 7 games is ranked 89 on defense, allowing average of 444.6 yards a game, and 99 on offense, generating average of 313 yards a game.
HC is ranked 107 in scoring after seven games. HC was the only FCS team to play seven games through Oct 12.
The rankings will shift somewhat after today's game.

I wondah if the ineptitude of both Lehigh and Lafayette (currently trailing GTown 13-3 in the 4th) this year may spur some movement for changes in PL football?

Keep trying, 87. If nothing else, we need to concede you are persistent.

FWIW SBU had very little problem with UNH and their QB, winning 35-7. Good thing we're not playing SBU this year.

Oh, and as far as ineptitude goes, I'll defer judgement until after we've played and, hopefully, beat them both. With only one notch on our gun, it's a little like the teapot calling the kettle black (note: mixed metaphor, or cliche if you prefer).

Point being, the alpha and omega for PL football is basically Lehigh&Lafayette...it's basically their world in the PL football universe and the rest of us just sort of live in it.
If they are consistently losing in and out of league play, I could see TPTB in the Lehigh Valley looking seriously into this.

And after they look, then what ? you do not believe that they are going to dissolve the PL because of some bad seasons by most of their football teams ?

No....changes in policy...full 63 scholarships, look into how red-shirting could be done more effectively, easing of AI restrictions etc etc

The schools with the highest AI -- Colgate and GU -- are atop the conference.
