This has the potential to be a slaughter on Saturday night if Nixon isn't back. Hopefully it will be competitive at least. Is this the highest ranked team to play hockey at HC?

This game will be on WEEI 1440AM and the stream for those interested. 7:05 puck drop.

Our opponents average 28 shots per game, HC averages 26 per game. Opponents average 45 shot attempts and it seems we are blocking quite a few shots. Defence hasn't played all that badly (not great by any stretch) considering the goals we have given up. Hopefully we hear about Nixon soon

Thinking about bringing the kids. Any chance this will be competitive?

Could be a great take-in and a great atmosphere but I am afraid that even if Nixon is healthy it might not be all that competitive. With Nixon it could be a tad closer.

Thinking about bringing the kids. Any chance this will be competitive? Chance it will be competitive isn't high at all. PC's first round pick should be back for the game and Nixon isn't playing according to Jen's column. Could be a very nasty 7-1 type score especially after PC tied Sacred Heart earlier this year.

This blurb was in today's Providence Journal:
■ The last time PC played Holy Cross in Worcester in October 2016, the Crusaders won, 2-1, in overtime at the DCU Center. Saturday's game is at the Hart Center.
"We’re playing on their campus," Leaman said. "I had a scout tell me [Thursday], What are you, nuts?’ I think this environment, in a small rink, it’s going to help prepare us for Hockey East games on the road. It’s going to be a tough environment."

Have to respect the coach for playing at the Hart Center. Berard’s Providence connections likely have a lot to do with that.

I saw him about a year ago at the Lenscrafters in the Warwick Mall which leads me to believe he never moved from his home in Warwick, RI.

One of our kids gave us tickets to this game. Looking forward to it and hoping that there is a loud student crowd.

This is more due to the times they play at than any particular affinity for hockey over the other big sports.

Is there a stat anywhere on the actual number of students who attend HC games in each sport?

I can see bodies, but I have no idea how many of them are students. I also read here regularly that attendance soften overestimated. I guess there is no way to compare students at different events.

Very good first period for HC. Tied 0-0. Play was pretty even. Unfortunately, Providence will be on the pp for first 1:50 of second period.

Losing 1-0 after 2 on a power play goal about a minute into the second. Providence with the better of the play in the second.
