Sotos has a ton of assists but has some turnovers as well. His three point shooting has been off during PL games. Like most Bison he has been good at drawing fouls and is a good free throw shooter. up? Turnovers were an issue for him earlier in the year - but not in the past five weeks. Since Christmas, he has averaged 7.2 assists per game versus 2.1 turnovers per game in a nine game sample. In patriot league games, he is 2nd in the league in assists and he is 1st among the ten starting PG's in assist to turnover ratio.

If Funk replaces him it looks like a drop off if you believe in KenPom's or sports-reference's numbers. Funk does not draw fouls at all. I guess Mackenzie, a mighty fine player, will move over from shooting guard and take over point guard duties? Sotos was playing 28 minutes a game of late. Maybe Mackenzie goes from 35 minutes to 38 per game, Toomer from 25 to 35, leaving 15 minutes for Funk to pick up? Bucknell losing a guy will hurt, but not like Holy Cross losing one of the top 6. They lucked out Saturday with Faw being more or less useless.

I am curious how it affects their pace of play. Sotos does a good job bringing the ball up the court quickly. If McKenzie gets more minutes at the point I wonder if opposing teams will pressure the ball up the court to make him work those shooting legs a little harder. If Sotos is out, Mackenzie will play solely at the point. He can handle that position with no problem, but it will affect his offense since he won’t get as many open three point shots. I imagine he will be playing 35 minutes a game, which may influence teams to pressure him more, as you suggest.

It’s a big loss, and the people who will replace hiis minutes are not nearly as good.

Report now is that Sotos has a torn labrum (Bankart tear), which is often caused by a shoulder dislocation. Will attempt to play at some point and have surgery when the season ends. It would seem like this will have a significant effect on his play, especially since it is his shooting arm.
Nate Sestina had a similar injury, although possibly more severe, that cost him most of his freshman year. Had labrum surgery. That is why he still will have a year of eligibility left after this year which he could use in a major school's graduate program.

Sounds like it. Hopefully he can play through it at some point, but off-season surgery is in his future.

American, Bucknell, and Colgate all win, Lehigh leading.
Six of our last nine games are against those four teams.

Really good road win tonight for AU at Loyola, which had won four of its last five, to go to 5-4 in conference. We won despite Sa'eed having an off night (2 of 10 from the floor) and Sam Iorio leaving the game in the first half after suffering a concussion. But Mark Gasperini had his best offensive game at AU with 21 points on 10 of 13 shooting, and freshman Jacob Boonyasith stepped in for Sam and made three threes en route to 13 points.

Lehigh was down 18 with under fourteen minutes left, outscored Army 38-15 the rest of the way to win, 75-70. BU, on the other hand, led from start to finish, beating Colgate at their place, 76-68. Navy and Bucknell also victorious.
After all is said and done on the afternoon, Holy Cross is in ninth place, just one game ahead of Lafayette.

As I have said on multiple occasions "on any given night, any team can beat any other team", welcome to the PL! Bucknell beat Loyola, as expected, despite 29 points from Andrew Kostecka. Loyola is 3-10 when Kostecka scores 22 or more points and 5-6 when he gets 18 or fewer points. Strange

He played 26 minutes but was clearly affected by his shoulder injury. Took only one shot in the game, but did have six assists and two steals. He is still scheduled for shoulder surgery after the season ends.

Birdsong is just an absolute buffoon....i mean, he is really disturbing with some of those calls. How about the one where, after McKenzie hit a three, he said: “Kimball you’re my hero. I just want to squeeze those cheeks.” What a weirdo.
