It's a great clip! The only issue is the audio on Geils' guitar.
Classic Peter Wolf "Baby, what did you give to me that ten years later and ten days ago I had to go over and give myself a little shot on the spot. Give me another wham for that one."

I think it was the field house
1843 club did an incredible job bringing in talent
My dear friend, former dentist Dan Sullivan ‘68 (RIP), was the leader of the organization

School concerts by big name acts were a fairly regular thing up to the mid-80's. In the late 60's/early 70's Jimi Hendrix (posthumously released live album recorded from his 2 shows), Grateful Dead (twice), Janis Joplin, and Springsteen all played at Clark.

Sha Na Na had everybody rocking out . Smoky Robinson , Chicago , Diane Warwick , The Rock Opera and the Eagles also come to my aging mind . Thank You 1843 Club . (Chris 1969-1973 )

I remember seeing Chicago at HC, James Taylor with Carole King, before she released Tapestry and became famous, at WPI, and the Beach Boys at the Paris Cinema while they were out of favor and the theater was only half full. They still sounded great.

As I understand it, my senior year in high school they had Hall & Oates and took a financial bath. That was the end of name bands in the field house. My freshman year, they did bring in a lower tier band called Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes

Agree, Tom.
Don't remember any concerts Sophmore - Senior year (Fall '82 - Spring '85). The financial hit may have been the death knell to the 1843 Club.
Not sure when they returned, but a concert has been part of Spring weekend for a while now, run out of the Office of Student Involvement in the Dean of Students Office. I'll let the young 'uns on the board chime in on recent artists who've performed.

No longer a young'un but I seem to remember Rusted Root, Pat McGee Band and Better Than Ezra performing while I was a student in the 97-01 range.

Hot Tuna came during the early 70's. The biggest group to play on campus during my HC years was likely America--junior or senior year.

Does anyone happen to know if The Fools ever played at HC (maybe late 70s/early 80s)? They were really popular around here during that time frame, and still play a few times a year (lately has been my New Years Eve night out, although not this year). As you can see from this video, they've never taken themselves seriously (and a lot of their stuff is a bit risque), but they are really, really good! If someone asked, they'd probably do a gig at HC now! After all, they are from Ipswich, Massachusetts, "The Entertainment Capital of the World, and the Birthplace of the Fried Clam!"

I don't recall them ever playing at HC and that would be about my era. Although I saw them 4 or 5 times at various central MA venues back in the day. If they played HC, I think I would have gone

No band who's biggest hit is "Life Sucks. . . Then You Die" takes themselves seriously
