The plot thickens on the cancelled First Responder Bowl cancellation as I dig a little further. It seems that this is the ServePro First Responder Bowl with the company ServePro being the sponsor. They are one of those companies that come in after you have water or smoke damage and restore your home. They work closely with insurance companies, often getting an assignment from the homeowner so they can bill the insurer directly. So, you would think that they would be VERY aware of weather-cancellation policies which are relatively inexpensive, especially since this is supposedly the first FBS bowl ever cancelled. Yet, I can't find anything in public that there was an insurance policy. If people don't get back their ticket prices and other expenses, this being the good ole USA, there will be lawsuits aplenty.BC has stated that all tix purchased from BC thru their office will get refunds and/or vouchers good for 1 year to another game.

That's those folks. Wonder about all the others. And is BC passing the tab along to someone else . . . . ServPro?

I find it kind of ironic that whether or not this game gets played in 2019 it will definitely NOT be at the Cotton Bowl as that is the home for the New Year's Day NHL Winter Classic.
I'm pretty sure at this point they can keep the ice in decent shape if it gets a bit warm, but there's not a heck of a lot they can do if it's raining!
As far as the football game, there are other stadiums in that vicinity, not the site of other bowls; that would be a better place to hold a game of that type anyway. SMU in particular.

The Servpro motto is, "Like it never, ever happened"! I would say that this game lived up to that!
