Colgate @ Navy (this is so hard to accept that Colgate, Colgate!, is supposed to be good) If nothing else, you've had a year to get used to that notion. Colgate finished 2nd in the regular season last year and also made the finals of the PL tournament. And they return the majority of their team plus add a very good transfer.

I have a longer view of Colgate than perhaps you have. Holy Cross has been playing Colgate for generations. A year or two or even 5 years is a blink of the eye. My family Crusader roots go back to the 1930s and have with very few exceptions had someone on the hill consistently since then.
So, yeah, I still struggle with the idea that Colgate might be anything but mediocre in basketball. No, don't play the Foyle card on me either. Another blink.

If you like KenPom's rankings you see that the PL opens with the top 5 teams playing the bottom 5.
Lehigh-- Lehigh has won the last 6 in the series and is #1 3 point shooting team in D-1. 4 players are hitting at .391 or higher in threes. Laf may have rebounding advantage but the "effective FG percentage" differential is stark: Lehigh is 54.6 on offense and 45.5 on defense= +9.1 while Laf is 49.3 vs 53.2= (3.9). We'll look at that for all five games.
Bucknell- Bison have won the last 8 in the series. Eff Fg Off vs Def shows Bucknell +4.6 versus Army (7.9). Bucknell is loaded with talented players.
American U-- Eff Fg: BU +2.5 versus American +8.6. AU is #15 defense on opponent fg pctg. AU's Sam Iorio is making his case to be PL POY. In latest outing, BU managed to lose to a weak Bethune-Cookman team despite getting 20 offensive rebounds as BU kept sending B-C to the line. BU is 4-0 when it sinks 37.5% of its three point attempts but AU has held opponents to 28.6% (#26 in D-1) on threes this year. I see American's defense bringing the Eagles the win.
Holy Cross- HC has won the last 3 in the series. HC's 4 losses this year came against #4, #66, #102, #104 and team is 9-0 versus all other opponents, all of whom are ranked higher than Loyola. Loyola has the #333 defense--look for HC to capitalize on that. Eff Fg Pcg Off-Def: HC +3.5 versus Loyola (2.7)
Colgate-- Eff Fg Pctg; Colgate +4.3 versus Navy (9.9). Navy is a very poor shooting team, #298 on 3 point percentage and #345 on twos. Colgate is 7-0 against teams ranked #224 to #288...Navy is ranked #316.

There's going to be a lot of people in first place or last place. Seems to be the only variation is the American/BU (as in "Boston") game.
