That is good to hear. I wish him and his new team well and hope they have a number of seasons with only one loss (guess who that would be)

Being reported by Jen Toland, too:
According to sources, former @hcrossfb coach Tom Gilmore will be named the new head coach at Lehigh on Tuesday. @tgsports

I believe this board may be the source. Nothing on Football Scoop yet.

Note that this might not be great news for Holy Cross.

I believe this board may be the source. Nothing on Football Scoop yet. Football Scoop gets most of their alleged "scoops" from forums just like this one.

From the Lehigh board:
“ Re: Tom Gilmore. Quote Post Mon Jan 07, 2019 7:58 pm Obviously one of the early 'front runners' listed on the board, and rightfully so. I know there will be some doubters regarding the curious ending of his tenure at Holy Cross, but I would think Joe has done his due diligence in speaking with those who know Tom the best and familiar with what occurred. Think about it...Tom has coached with Kashurba, Bandy, Higgins, Clawson and Andy. He knows Lehigh and what is expected; he knows the PL , the Ivy and the Northeast. Hopefully, this will jumpstart the program, especially with regard to improving the D. Even if Brisson is staying, I'd like to see him bring in Stambaugh on the O for tutoring our QBs and creativeness. Phil played here when Tom was the DC and while not directly, coached, there would be strong familiarity. Looking forward to the presentment and press conference.”

Great news-- I hope he has a great run until it is time to retire when he desires to do so.

Great for Tom! One of the truest gentleman you could ever meet. Ditto! Spoke to him at my reunion in ‘17 and he was congenial.

Well, we won't have to worry about Lehigh anytime soon.

Happy for him that he has found a new gig. Not at all worried that this will impact our ability to be perennial league favorites.

This is like a woman divorces her husband and he ends up marrying one of her bridesmaids. Awkward.

Not awkward at all. Or at least it shouldn't be. Holy Cross made a business decision that it wanted new leadership of the football program because it didn't feel like Tom Gilmore was getting it done on the field (no one ever said he and his players weren't successful in the classroom). This was not a "personal" decision (having had communications with both TG and NP) as a divorce is.
The better analogy is a regional sales manager at Allstate gets fired for failing to meet sales goals and then gets hired as regional sales manager at State Farm. They'll be competing for the same business and trying to hire the same agents to meet their respective sales goals.
I wish him much success at Lehigh except when they play Holy Cross as he wants much success for Holy Cross except when they play Lehigh.

Glad for Coach Gilmore. Just seems like an odd hiring for Lehigh. What were they waiting so long for? Wake was done well before Christmas and I'm sure he could of been interviewed well before their bowl game. Just another Patriot League head scratcher.

Wow! Happy for FHCTG. This is going to be exciting to watch Chesney vs. Gilmore every year. HC Football just got that much more interesting....

Well, we won't have to worry about Lehigh anytime soon. When Gilmore had good players, his HC teams were very good. He struggled when roster depth was decimated as the Ivy ramped up their "scholarships" and the NEC also went fully schollie, while he was left with nothing and an Admissions Director that was a huge pain in the arse. With a fresh start at Lehigh and full scholarships with an admissions situation that has to be better, if he can get things ramped up like he did in his first few years at HC, we could be in trouble.

Long-term, any development at a PL competitor that forces Holy Cross to step up its game is welcome.

I'm as big of a Tom Gilmore fan as any, but this is a reach. Is this a polite way of saying he just didn't recruit very well with scholarships? Because I often felt that our non-scholarship teams actually looked more talented than the ones with scholarship players.
