They look sharp.
That said, I still prefer the ones from the Gordie Lockbaum era,

The sole difference is the small HC Shield patch on the shoulders. Otherwise, same unis as last year.
Blah....use the new practice jerseys !!! They have more style.
Pine's first fumble....nobody is perfect.

the new deal with adidas has them outfitting all of our teams with new unis - check out the other teams' twitter pages. i'm more interested in 'the fashion' on the field and the scoreboards. unis won't sell any seats but wins will.

I would buy a new, purple practice jersey... even tweeted at NP to ask if I could. Perhaps he interpreted it as a request for a free one, but I got no answer. Again, gear should be available to purchase online... but I see no option to do so. This is revenue lost.
I would also take a trade for a jersey, in exchange for buying tickets to the Fordham/HC Yankee Stadium game they keep calling my parents' house about...

I don't know where you guys look for this stuff, but ... On GoHolyCross.com, there is a link in the main menu at the top of every page called "SHOP." Click it. Then click "Official Store Home" in the sub-menu. On the left hand side a link to "Jerseys." Admittedly, not a lot there right now, and not the official game jerseys right now, but the white one looks an awful lot like the white practice jersey. www.shopholycross.com/holy_cross_crusaders__jerseys__mens

I have a real 1967/68 one. Gotta start wearing it before it falls apart. Rayon/cotton or whatever that stuff was at the time. Huge numbers including ones on the top of the shoulders, which I wish would return to the current ones.

I want to buy the real-deal. That's why I wrote the last line before the link ... I get it. Stuff is hard to find and it appears official game replica stuff is non-existent. We're coming out of the dark ages of marketing in the athletics department. This marketing team is open to fans and is empowered to listen to them, but customers sometimes need to speak up to be heard. Don't just gripe about it here. Take some real action. You MIGHT get ADNP to respond to a tweet about buying a product, but if I were interested in such merchandise, I'd ask either Dan Mercuio, Director of Marketing or Peter Sachs, General Manager Crusader Sports Properties via phone or e-mail. Their contact information can be found here. www.goholycross.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=210240446&DB_OEM_ID=33100&DB_OEM_ID=33100Let them know you want to buy relplica jerseys - not the ones currently on that site. You'd at least get an informed response as to plans to offer them (or not) and may influence future decisions to offer them if there are not plans to offer them now. Just my $0.02

Sorry if it's coming off as a gripe, but I don't work for the marketing department to send e-mails recommending the products and services that they offer. I don't need to take action. If HC wants my opinion, they can send me a letter offering me employment and I'll enact all sorts of new ideas....
I'm saying I would gladly reward what is a fairly no-brainer decision to sell legit sports gear on the school's website, voting in approval of the decision with my dollars.

Official style merchandise has never been HC's strong suit. Walk into the Harvard Coop, especially during the Yale week, and by comparison you'll see what I mean.
I bought a beautiful size 8 fitted official HC baseball cap in the bookstore in 1992 and have been waiting for another decent hat ever since. First world problem I guess.
The uniforms will look nice from afar. I don't think the fabric is mean to be seen from close up like in the pictures. I just hope the pads stay in this year.

You're correct on the home purple last year. Same pants save for the small shield addition on the hip. The new practice jerseys posted 4 weeks ago have the Adidas signature 3-stripes on the shoulders....somewhat like when we had dual shoulder stripes on jerseys. I very much like the use of the HC shield on everything athletics...just needed to add some stripes for style on the jerseys and pants.

BTW, IMO the last edition of unis with some style was 7-8 years ago when Adidas gave us the then nearly identical unis being worn by Northwestern with the wavy shoulder stripe and half stripe on the pants. That was somewhat the garb back then but thought they were quasi cool.
Would much prefer a return to dual white stripes on the helmets, jerseys and pants....along with the new/throw-back block HC on the helmets and the new HC within shield patches placed on pant hips and jersey shoulders.

They could wear an ugly purple plaid for all I care if they would go undefeated.
I posted on the old board how Ralph Willard and I went back and forth about what I considered a outrage when our basketball uniforms were black for certain games as presumably this was "cool" (and I gather from here, black still is). The team lost a game or two wearing the black uniforms and I told Ralph maybe if they wore the actual school color (royal purple - we have one color - "royal purple" not "purple and white") they would win. Ralph dryly, as he was wont to do, responded that the kids liked the black uniforms and thought the color of the uniform was much less important than the effort and the adherence to the game plan. He invited me to meet the team and explain how their losses were a result of wearing black uniforms. I declined his facetious offer. He didn't change my mind, I didn't change his but I did agree that the performance on the court/field was not really related to the color of the uniform.
So, I won't get too exercised about stripes, size of numerals, logos, etc.
As td128 says: "Just win!"

To really know if unis effect performance, one would have to do a real study. Until then....just speculation.

Speculation on my part that Holy Cross Football will have a third alternative uniform, either next year or the year after. My suggestion is to email the HC equipment manager Ken Slough, kslough@holycross.edu, with your suggestions. Hopefully he will take your best ideas into consideration for the third uni. www.goholycross.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=33100&ATCLID=210236008This may be over the top, I would like to see a third uni in silver gray, with a silver helmet, to look like knights in armour. At one point either in the late 40's or early 50's, from looking at past pictures, HC did wear silver helmets. Kind of the antithesis of the Golden Dome helmets.😎 gridirongarb.blogspot.com/2014/09/holy-cross-crusaders-2013-14-1986-91.html

Much thanks for that last link Crusis...great reference on many teams unis thru the years.
