Interesting result. In the first two games, which we lost, our face off guy dominated. Last night, he only won 6 of 22, but we handled them. We were 21/23 on clears, Lowell was only 16 of 21. We committed 21 turnovers to their 30. We won the ground ball battle handily 43 to 29. On the basis of the stats, it looks like a sloppy game which we won with ease. Our lead going into the fourth quarter was 9-2. Good win for the good guys. Impressive win over a state school! Wow what a team. Maybe the beat Nichols and Worcester State this season too!

We play a pretty rough D-1 schedule with a couple of schollies divided a million ways so .500 is a very long shot as usual. That said, some wise scheduling (UVM - a close loss , UMass Lowell - a win , etc. ) should help in terms of morale, W-L, etc. Between the Ivies and the PL quality teams I just don't see us getting near that .500 mark this year.

I still don’t understand our lacrosse program. Could you expand a bit on the total number/amount of schollies for the program. Thx.

Today's game vs. Harvard has been moved to Cambridge (3pm start) from Worcester. Guess the wind-chill on top of the hill would make things unplayable. Harvard is 0-2 with losses at UNC and at home vs. UMass.

Harvard up 8-3 at the half on what looks to be an ice cold field (surrounded by plowed snow).

You want to see a score to be proud of !! Here you are. HC wins 11-10 by scoring the last 7 goals in regulation and then scoring the winner in the 2nd OT by freshman Spangenberg

Team stats HOLY CROSS HARVARD Shots 58 35 Ground Balls 42 26 Saves 14 19 Clears 20-22 24-28 Turnovers 23 24 Face Offs Won 22 4 Man Up 0-1 0-4
Note that we won faceoffs 22-4 including 10 of the last 11. That is the only way you can come back from a seven goal deficit.

Awesome comeback. The game-winning goal is a thing of beauty... not because of a great individual effort, but teamwork. Movement. Slipping from the defender. Finding the open teammate. Looked like a mental breakdown too by the Harvard defense. All adds up to a hell of a win.

Nice W in 2OT (as BFoley notes, we coincidentally beat them in 2OT by a similar score last year). Harvard falls to 0-3. We're 2-2. Upcoming game v #1 Loyola is an example of what I meant when I wrote of our tough men's lax schedule year in and year out (and the difficulty of finishing .500)
