Massey makes this one a toss-up with Lafayette a 1 point favorite (71-70) but with a 50% chance for HC to win as well as Lafayette. As close a prediction as possible. I think JF and the team will pull out all the stops for this one. I like our chances because I don't see HC having a 5-8 minute scoring drought tonight.

They will get open looks from 3. Hopefully they’ll have a cold shooting night.

Lafayette took more threes than average (50%+ of their shots) against Holy Cross in both regular season games, made 29-47. Maybe the coach will call our players' attention to Alex Petrie this time around - in his four career games vs. HC, he's 22-32 from deep.
Fingers crossed.

Petrie needs to thank HC for some of the attention he has gotten as a potential "all-star." I am hoping that our coaches, regardless of their past strategies, will do what one person posted earlier another thread. That is, run players off of the three-point line and leave JF (and perhaps Faw) to handle most of what comes inside.

Petrie apparently would need to play HC exclusively to be a potential all-star. He hasn't played very well in general and lost his starting job almost six weeks ago. Normally gets about 20 mpg off the bench.

I looked at the stats from the 2 games against Lafayette this year and a couple things stick out to me. I'll let others draw the conclusions:
Game at the Hart - 1/12: HC 77 Lafayette 70 Holy Cross -9 for 15 from the foul line - 60% Lafayette - 1-1 from the foul line (that's right 1 foul shot) - 100%
Holy Cross - 57.1% 3 point% Lafayette - 53.6% 3 point %
Grandison - 18 points 8 rebounds
Copeland - 4 minutes (0 points 0 rebounds) Le Sann - 0 minutes (0 points 0 rebounds)
Largest Lead - 18 points HC - 9:16 second half
Game in Easton - 2/10 - Lafayette 69 Holy Cross 67 Holy Cross - 5 for 12 from the foul line - 41.66% Lafayette - 13-16 from the foul line - 81.25%
Holy Cross - 37.5% 3 point% Lafayette - 48.3% 3 point%
Grandison - 10 points 0 rebounds
Copeland - 21 minutes(7 points 2 rebounds) Le Sann - 12 minutes (0 points 3 rebounds)
Largest Lead - 17 points Lafayette 1:20 first half

The win at home was exactly what Coach wants to get wins....Make shots, don't foul and don't turn the ball over...[Win at home, HC 7 turnovers vs Laf, 10...loss at Laf....HC 12 turnovers to 7 by Laf].....

Throwback thought:
If Petrie is a threat to torch us again, come out in a diamond-and-one defense (am I dating myself?) with CG on the top, JF on the bottom, and AB playing MTM against Petrie. Butler will frustrate the crap out of him, and after a flagrant-2, he’ll be done before halftime.
On to Lewisburg!

I can’t figure out what happened to Grandi. He’s a shell of what he was in the OOC.

This is an unusual opportunity to watch a contest that the majority of both teams’ fan bases might secretly hope will be their coach’s last game.
