It's March Madness time again and that can only mean that the Crossports Bracket Challenge will once again pit our hoop prognosticating skills - or blind luck - against our fellow Crossporters. Everyone is welcome in this fun filled competition. Last year's contest went down to the wire with RGS318 pulling out a thrilling win over several contenders. To play, go to the ESPN Tournament Challenge site and register (free of charge). The name of our group is Patriot League Cohorts and the password is plhoops. One bracket per person seems to work best. The link below should get you started. Good luck, everyone!

I see where hchoops and NAD likes to pick upsets like me as we are at zero. I always try to have at least 25% lower seed picks in the first round as I will always finish near the bottom .

I’m researching ways to be able to submit brackets anonymously in future Crossports Bracket Challenges. Congratulations to alum for a superb day 1 performance - 14 out of 16 correct! Several more close behind.

After one round, things seem to be going rather well. Not perfect, but rather well

Heading into the round of 32, alum maintains his slim lead over T-Gunner24, with a handful of others within striking distance. Let’s see who makes the Sweet 16!

There is at least one I know well who will not make it.

Heading into the Sweet 16, we’ve seen a good number of exciting games, thrilling wins, and grueling defeats. We also have a good number of astute prognosticators, as HCNATION has seized our top spot with a narrow lead over RGS318 and alum, and a few others lurking in the weeds. What is really puzzling me though is that in my other bracket pool ($20/entry), I - an admittedly weak gambler - am at the same 12.1 percentile, while my buddy’s wife, who I’m pretty sure watches a total of less than an hour of college basketball during the entire regular season (including conference tournaments), is sitting pretty in the 99.5 percentile!

Back in the days of betting slips on campus, the wife of the SID (Rich Lewis) used to pick games...all Ivy League. It was said by those "in the know" that the Ivy was a poor bet because of so many emotional upsets. She won regularly on the slips. Just goes to show.

I knew after watching Tennessee the first two rounds that I had them way too high going to the final game so it was good while it lasted.

I have to applaud ACTP for getting the first 3 games correct today when most of us got only 1 right

Most interesting thing looking at our standings is that HC16 went 19/32 in the first round but has 1690 potential which is the highest in our little competition. He must have gotten "the right games wrong."

Heading into the Regional Finals we have HCNATION holding a razor thin lead over alum. Also looks like a few others with at least a puncher’s chance of coming out on top, but I get dizzy when I try to figure out all the possibilities. Good luck, everyone!

A quick glance reveals ACTP and cmo each have 8 out of 8 remaining. That’s pretty impressive
