Harvard has been improving in recent years (along with their entire athletic program!) - they're 10-5 so far this season (2-1 Ivy) Not often you face the no.1 batter in the nation but we will today - Sr. 1b Patrick McColl is 34 of 66 with 6 hr's so far for a lofty .515 ba, and is 3rd in the country slugging at ,985
Midweek college baseball is quite insignificant and unpredictable as top pitchers only work weekends. Game is on ESPN+ for those who might have subscribed from the basketball season.

Does anyone know why Cam Meyer (one of our better returning players) has not seen the field yet this season ?

Malgeri not starting Hope he is just resting or as the NBA says” load management” when fans pay big bucks to see the stars sit.

HC up 2-0 with Harvard batting in bottom of second
HC's leadoff man singled to start the game and, sure enough, Coach called for the #2 hitter to sacrifice bunt.
Harvard has tied the game 2-2 and is still batting in bottom of second. Here's what Harvard batters have done in the inning
Strikeout Walk Double--runners on 2nd and 3rd. Note that Harvard did not choose to have its #7 hitter sacrifice bunt--then look what happens-a multi-run inning Single driving in two runs.

Interesting, Masel starting at SS. Perhaps Kale can provide some additional offense.

Dawson just can't pitch. He gives up hits and runs every time. Makes so many mistakes. Time to move on to somebody else. 7-3 Harvard through 7.

6-7 loss after HC scores 2 in the top of the 9th Bases loaded to start the inning and then a ground ball back to the pitcher gets two outs and then two runs score and then ESPN Plus had technical difficulties and I did not see the last strike out. Tough loss in a very winnable game.

Our pitching talent is quite thin so of course we are going to have to play guys who are overmatched even at the PL level. We have two pitchers, IMHO, who match up very well v PL hitters. The rest either compete with mixed results or are simply overmatched.

Not sure what that tells me - if anything.

That he has pitched well in the last 7 appearances ? No. Did he get yanked after loading the bases a time or two? A selected 8 innings over 7 games with a 1.08 ERA for a 5-22 team tells me nothing.
