Grad transfers in basketball have become the equivalent of college hockey's 21 year old freshmen.
I can't figure out why the brother from Marquette who's going to be a senior is leaving to play one year somewhere after sitting out one year.

I didn't particularly care for the way Proctor and father dealt with Holy Cross after Brown was fired, but he turned out to be a very good student-athlete at High Point.

Given Proctor's close ties to MB I don't think it was an unreasonable request to ask for a release to reopen his recruitment. Not granting the release initially ended any chance of re-recruiting him. Also think if Thompson had more than one year left it might have made a difference. In any event it turned out to be a disastrous spring as we also lost Hahn and Kostecka and replaced them with far inferior talent, and as it turns out character for the most part.

Sam Hauser to UVA for one year. Joey Hauser to Michigan State for 2 or 3 years. Both have to sit out one year.

Per Jeff Goodman Iorio to South Alabama a truly bizarre choice.

Bizarre does not quite capture it. Wow. This is a big development for the PL Yeah, we were a little surprised, too. Not so much that it was Sun Belt-which graded seven spots higher than the PL last year, per KenPom-but South Alabama, which didn't make much sense at all. But looks like a teammate of his from his high school is going to walk on down there this year, so that would explain at least some of the attraction.

A further indictment on Brennan that he — like Carmody — should no longer be the coach of his program.

Shades (somewhat, not exactly) of Chris Spitler and Josh Sankes, perhaps. USA should be quite happy if Iorio does as well there as Josh did at HC.
Dean Wormer - the AU administrator could sure use your guidance on the AU board....trolls have gone crazy.

AU board is now down until June 15th. It is under evaluation by the moderator regarding resurrection.
Really too bad. From reading the board, I did not see any comments that were that egregious. I have seen far worse comments on other boards. Apparently the transfer of Iorio sent some people in a tizzy. Personally I thought Iorio lacked class when he took and made a three point shot as time was expiring and a large lead, 17 points for AU, at the last game he played in Worcester. AU won 86-66.

Shades of the All American from Kansas who threw down a breakaway dunk in the NCAA tourney to push the final margin to 11. Real class.

Also - I know off topic - but what has happened to the Bucknell Board. The link on the main page doesn't seem to work or else the site is down.

The location link to all the Patriot League sites is not currently operable from the main crossports page.

Some of these undergrad transfers are very bizahhh (in the terms of completely different school types etc)....I can't imagine the overall culture shock of a kid transferring from U of Central Florida to Georgetown for instance.

The location link to all the Patriot League sites is not currently operable from the main crossports page. Yeah. Saw that last night. Every link somehow goes to what appears to be a largely defunct or at lease no-longer-utilized forums that is part of College Sports Journal. Not sure how it happened, but will take a day or two to get it straightened out. If anyone (HC87?) has links to the currently utilized Army & Navy boards, would appreciate a pointer to them. All I could find last night were sign-up to read boards on Rivals. If that's the best place for those schools, so be it, but just wanted to see if anyone was aware of other boards.

I think both (A&N) of their boards (with the most activity anyway) are now pay boards...could well be wrong, as I haven't tried to access them in awhile.
Hopefully we can find (and access) Navy's for the football game this year.

I have seen far worse comments on other boards. Apparently the transfer of Iorio sent some people in a tizzy. I think you were lucky in your timing in visiting the AU board. There were a few trolls - likely posting under multiple screen names - who were guilty of a lot of vulgarity and gratuitous insults, while providing no rational commentss at all. For a while, the majority of the posts were of this nature. The AU administration cleaned up the worst stuff on a few different occasions, which is likely why you didn't see anything particularly egregious, but it kept coming. They need to require every poster to be registered. That would stop 95% of the blatant misuse of the board.

Boston U forward Tyler Scanlon just entered the transfer portal. Big loss for Boston if he leaves. He would have definitely been an All-PL candidate this year, and Boston U likely was going to be a top three preseason pick. Scanlon averaged about 14 ppg and 5 rpg, while leading them in minutes, assists, and steals. You can make a good case that he should have made third team All-PL this past season.
