The rich get richer. Amazing record and he accomplished all this while working part time in sales at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, also in Scranton.

Here's an AD that has a formula for success. Hire people that have been successful at a lower level. There is no experience like head coaching experience no matter what level you are coaching at. If you can be successful at D3 without the benefit of scholarships and a little financial aid, there is no reason you can't duplicate it on the D1 level when you have more resources. I think you see this more on the men's side fans and boosters screaming that a candidate needs D1 expereience to be considered. I wish more AD's would take a chance on someone working in D2 or D3. I'm not saying D1 Assistants shouldn't be given a chance but until you are the person making the decisions you don't get that experience holding a clipboard.

The AD who made this hire has only been at Bucknell for nine months. But it's true that Bucknell has generally gone the D3 route in basketball - men and women. Since 1984, every Bucknell basketball coach has come from the D3 ranks. It worked well with Flannery, Paulsen, and Davis on the men's side, and Roussell on the women's side. Btw, the other head coach who this Bucknell AD hired was Dave Cecchini, the new football coach. Cecchini was a FCS head coach at another school (Valpo) before being hired. Prior to that, he was an offensive coordinator at three different FCS schools (Harvard, Citadel, Lehigh). He never coached at the D2 or D3 level.
