Not a surprise, Ivy League and play in the Palestra.

No surprise, Ivy League. With I believe no limit on the number of players the IL can bring in and the purse strings opened on financial aid across the board, the Ivies are in a position to scoop up a lot of prospects. Once a kid is at one of the ancient 8s and with their financial aid not tied to playing a sport, my guess is very, very few transfer out and give up an Ivy League degree if their athletic ventures don’t go as they hoped. It’s one thing to recruit against the Ivies if the family is looking at paying 50%. It’s a different ball game if that figure is substantially lower. I have no idea what the average bill is per year at an IL school but from all accounts, it is much lower than it used to be.

Osei Price is a 6-4 PG (?) from Florida who's re-classing to 2021 and will be playing at South Kent (CT) this coming season. Has a two year-old offer from Asheville (among others), so RJ has been on him for awhile www.verbalcommits.com/players/osei-price

No surprise, Ivy League. With I believe no limit on the number of players the IL can bring in and the purse strings opened on financial aid across the board, the Ivies are in a position to scoop up a lot of prospects. There is definitely a limit to how many athletes can be "recruited" using the admissions slots each coach gets. In basketball, I believe the max over a four-year period is 21 (15 travel spots on roster x 1.4), although it might be slightly higher. However other players may make it through admissions on their own merits and join as walk-ons. The purse strings are definitely open for kids whose parents don't have fairly high incomes. Having said that, there are a lot of recruited Ivy athletes, including basketball players, who pay full freight. A number of them are high Academic Index students, who can be used to offset other players with lower (albeit still great) AI's.

Thank you for the info. Even with a cap of twenty-one, that is a lot of players.

So if we are recruiting head to head with say Harvard, we have to go after child ten in a rich family who for whatever reason, doesn’t want to pay for his education after having paid full boat for the rest. If that same kid is in a middle class family, our chances plummet. Oh, the kid has to be a very good player with high grades and test scores.

Hamrick is a 6-8 F from Westminster Catawba Christian in Rock Hill, South Carolina (half hour south of Charlotte . . .). No VC page, but reportedly has an offer from Army. Per his coaches tweets via the Bill and Mary board, W&M, Dartmouth and Columbia have expressed their interest as well.

Or, more likely, go after the many recruits who can't get into Harvard.

I sat next to Bob Ryan a few years back at one of the all Mass hoops tourneys..When he left, he gave me his press notes. Interestingly, in the notes, it detailed how Harvard gave aid to its players..Any student admitted to Harvard whose parent made less than $70,000 got 100% "aide"..and as income increased the "aid" decreased...I don't remember all the numbers, but I do remember thinking that every hoops player was really on scholarship..So as long as the kid could get in, he got much aid!! I think Harvard had about 20 kids that season....

Despite extensive business and personal travels in Indiana I had never heard of Lincoln City. Turns out it is an unincorporated town near Evansville. Heritage Hills High School is small, 620 students, but is the alma mater of Jay Cutler and several other NFL players. It being in Indiana I am sure that the basketball program is the school's real focus

Sisley The comp looks shorter and it is probably the small school league, but He has impressive, varied skills 1- plays hard at both ends 2- fine low post footwork 3- runs the court 4-puts it in the floor and finishes 5- shoots the 3 off the catch and the bounce 6- good timing on blocks, keeping some in play
