With Lake Q such a great venue and available to our rowing teams, I have always thought we should have a shot at a league title in this sport. Well, it hasn't been and our women race tmro having finished 8th last year and seeded 6th. 7th and 8th in the three races which basically means we don't have a chance. The men compete in the Eastern Sprints against some of the top competition in the country at the lake on Sunday (I can accept lousy results in a national race like this) Here's the article on the women's PL race tmro www.goholycross.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=33100&ATCLID=211803598

I don't pay that much attention to rowing, but is that our last sport without a full time coach?

At least our coxswain doesn't get thrown in the lake much. The men's tennis coach also owns two sporting goods (ski) stores in Western Mass. The bright side of part time coaches is they probably don't have time to get involved in Varsity Blues type mischief. The women's golf coach is also a District Court Judge and the women's tennis coach is the Principal of Tantasqua Regional High School in Sturbridge. So these coaches may be part time but they are all accomplished people.

Finished 8th of 9 schools today, only beating Loyola - we should really be doing better (guess there's no 'home course advantage' in rowing)

Our men faced top national competition and unfortunately did not manage to score - finished tied for last with Rutgers with zero points. A lot of hard work put in during the entire academic year in this sport. Maybe there should be a 1-AA division in crew

Rurgers is, IIRC, now a club team (having been dropped to that status to get a new recruit press box for football).
