Relax. It ain’t like the Fighting Irish are coming to town. I think we’ll be okay. HC is getting much better very quickly right here in 2019. Not sure who is living in the past. You seem much more fixated on it than most of the HC fans here. 😳. Seriously? Have you read this board? Oh my we could have been in the Big East! We were big time in the 50s! The stadium used to be packed! When RW was coach no one would play us. Cousy! The people use to come out. BC we use to compete with. Etc. come on me living in the past? 🤥 V UNH is Plymouth State, right?

Everyone needs to temper their thoughts including you, UNH. Yes, HC lost to a "bad" UNH team last year 28-0 at your place. You seem to forget that the year before the Crusaders beat then ranked #9 Wildcats ("good" team?) 51-26 at Fitton. We are playing at Fitton this season. Feel free to look past the Crusaders regardless of the Navy results. By the way, the Navy game will be on CBS Sports Network according to the schedule. As I said one win. Upsets happen. We shall see. Some of the older alums living in the past make me laugh. 2019 let’s see what happens. Enjoy your team and be proud of them. Support them! Don’t keep on dwelling on what could have been! Time to move on! You have a great challenge in UNH coming to Worcester! Will you rise? You do have a good point regarding last year and a few unrealistic fans. As I recall UNH was 0-4 and then whipped HC 28-0. A few purple-sunglassed folks were convinced that UNH was a 'new' team - with their starting QB back after injury - so HC had lost to a very good CAA team. Which was sure to roll the rest of the way. Then UNH promptly lost two straight (and they weren't very close) . We were 5-6 last year but have some hope of hitting .500 in the next year or two.

I think HC can reach .500 or better this year.

A CAA team should beat Holy Cross in most years. Some years it won’t happen that’s sports. But no one focusing on my points made by this board. Oh well I tried.

UNH is Plymouth State, right? With or without Joe Dudek? If Dudek comes back, we are definitely screwed.

Nah, we can trump "their" Dudek with a Lockbaum and be just fine. Gotta love off-season boredom!

I know but if you talk with folks at Navy, there's not great enthusiasm for the league as presently configured. But they don't have a better spot, at this point, to go, which I noted. I think that would be true of the fans of every school in the Anonymous Athletic Conference.

HC vs BC, years '63,'64,'65,'66, 2W's-2L's. Dead even. HC was never and isn't now any other school's "little brother" regardless of athletics. Traditionally, HC has been. "the flagship" of Catholic higher education. It still offers an undergraduate education many professionals believe is far superior to the others but this not adequately measured by the rankings mags. and websites. LoveHC 30 years ago maybe. It seems ND has always been the dream of catholic students across the country. The deal they have with NBC doesn’t hurt in getting the name out to today’s 21 st century students.

That's my advice to any school at any level looking to move up. Try to do it legally too or you start back at ground zero.

BC itself wasn't until the 1970s and there were only 3 games between the two until the 1990s. The only connections between the schools were that a few Notre Dame men coached at HC.

Fairly certain that was a concerted effort by ND i.e. not to play other Catholic schools (particularly in football) during much of the 20th Century. Wanted to be seen/known as "the Catholic team for America " etc

Back in 1963, I was accepted by Notre Dame, but went to HC. Six years later, I visited my cousin, a ND senior, for a few football weekends. The games themselves were a sight to see, but some of the rest of the Notre Dame experience wasn't as impressive. Shabby South Bend made Worcester look good, the bar scene in the near north side of Chicago was far away, the dating ratio then was awful -- something like 10 to 1 with the nearby women's college, and the one meal that I had in the cafeteria made Kimball fare seem pretty tasty in comparison. I also recall my cousin saying that a lot of ND students went there so they could wear Notre Dame jackets when they went home on vacation.

Hopefully you did not drink any of the Kool-Aid while you were there. It sounds like you escaped safely

I believe Alum office is planning an event... but don't think travel is included It appears the best seat in the house is $40 and the worst seat in the house is $40. I like simplicity. Have been to 2-3 games at Navy-Marine Corpes Stadium....all good seating but recommend the upper deck.

Or the end-zone hill if you have small kids and a blanket.

Hope you guys enjoy Navy. Beating a dead horse, but would like to see you on our future schedule.

Agree, steve.
And also not to beat a dead horse, but UMass football is really in a tough / weird spot as an FBS Indy. I count four games on your 2019 schedule that would actually excite alums (Rutgers, UConn, Northwestern, Army).
I mean, FIU, Charlotte, Akron, LA Tech, Liberty, Coastal Carolina, Southern Illinois and BYU. Sheesh.

It'd have to be a home and home series, Steve. We have a big enough stadium to accommodate your fans.

(-: Disagree about BYU and that's not why I come here. Like you guys and stop in now and again and of course beating that dead horse. Hey it worked with BB, but little did I know Derek Kellogg made an official visit. Your IPF is fantastic, but happy we are finally making improvements and the air support IPF. No comparisons except both funded with a special donor.
Navy looks like a great road trip, Hope you make it down there and enjoy. Actually would be a very nice vacation trip.
