Just a single example from this spring - my daughter applied to the schools we're talking about - she was rejected by BC, admitted to Villanova (off wait list) and accepted at HC and the other Patriot schools she applied to. Interesting experience indeed. That is a complete turning of the tables from a half century ago as far as BC/HC selectivity goes. The Flutie Effect has had legs I guess, as well as the attractiveness of BC straddling the tony suburb of Chestnut Hill and a trendy section of Boston. HC has better sunsets but apparently that doesn't carry much weight. I'm not familiar with Villanova's neighborhood but presume it is more similar to BC than to HC. Good luck to your daughter wherever she attends.

/\ At least one poster is easily triggered by mention of Villanova.
And even ascribes such sensitivity to BC alums.
Can 't imagine a BC alum (or even a HC alum) would be offended (or even surprised) by the data in my post:
"For example: Last year's data (2018-2019 - Fall 2018 admissions): BC 32.5 (Assume this is their enrolled as their 'fact book' is not entirely clear), Villanova 31.5, Holy Cross 30.0, Fordham 29.0, Providence College 28.0 "
Can you specifically tell me how many admitted enrolled hc students (for the class for which the above statistic of representative of) submitted ACT scores? A specific number please— no commentary. That is all.

Interesting experience indeed. As longsuffering notes, this is quite a change from many years ago and those of us who work with high schoolers (and regularly check out Naviance) have seen this precise change reflected in numerous student experiences. (There have been changes vis a vis BU and Northeastern as well.) The good news is she has some wonderful choices and really can't go wrong.
