Is the PAC in heavy use during the Summer? Are there performances and events that are open to the Worcester community? The PAC is a great new asset for HC and I hope we are deriving the full benefit from it.

They were advertising for the position of a managing director, so a larger program may await his/her appointment.

I'm not sure who would be using it I think most things would be open to the Worcester community, but not advertised to it. The trick would be having someone in the community being aware there was something to be seen

I saw the show Company back in February
The only reason I knew about it was that since it happened (planned?) for winter homecoming, it was tossed in on the alumni blast for homecoming. Anyone who knew it was being put on could have walked up and get tickets. There was however, a 50 percent markup for anyone not part of the HC community (and that included alumni)
Fortunately for me, the tickets were a very affordable $10, so I was able to come up with the extra $5 and see the show

I still think the building is hideous but have always believed having this new major facility would be a huge plus for Holy Cross in building awareness for the College, enhancing town-gown relations, broadening our appeal to prospective students, etc.

The size of the two theaters is small compared to the price tag of the overall facility. The PPAC wasn't built for the masses or commercial profitability but all the better if each individual visitor experience gives someone the sense they are in an exclusive arts space they wouldn't have access to without Holy Cross and they spread the word.

All in all, a great addition to our beautiful campus.

I agree on both counts. The interior is amazing, the exterior, not so much... but time may help me to accept that and, perhaps, to se it in a better light.

I should have been clearer---I was referring only to the exterior of the building with my statement that it is hideous.

Prior Jr. One of the board’s lawyers with a Pacer account should be able to access the complaint and let us know what the case is about.

This service mirrors PACER , which is the federal court electronic case system and which costs a ridiculous amount of money to use. Documents which appear in PACER which are then opened by someone who has subscribed to this service (which is free) can be viewed. A document will not always be readily available but on cases which generate public interest, it is possible to follow.

This looks like a huge mess. Remember, these are only allegations. I have little to no idea about whether this states a claim for relief. I imagine we will hear the terms detrimental reliance and laches.

Prior says the College breached his gift agreement which is a contract. He wants his money back to give to a different charity. There are lots of twists and turns all the way up to a concert that didn’t happen last fall. I’ll try to give more detail tomorrow when I’m at a computer.

This is insane. Did we make attempts to address his complaints and make him happy ? He loved HC enough to donate millions of $$$ and now hates the school enough to start this embarrassing and destructive law suit???

If nothing else, it'll make you forget all about Bill Gibbons' lawsuit. But, no mention in the complaint that if he wins and gets his money back, if he'll agree that we can scratch his name off the building. More seriously, after doing a quick read, if 10% of what he alleges is true, it would be a shameful episode in Holy Cross history.

I'd like to hear the college's side. As a lawyer I'm somewhat unimpressed with Prior's complaint. Having said that, it's very sad to see relations with such a loyal alum be breached.
