That is good to hear. One step on the road back to "normal."

Beat me to it. Additional construction equipment parked this morning at the entrance to "The Jo." We'll know "we're in business" when they lift the crane at the PPAC. You get a real sense of how long/tall it is as it lays on the ground. Are they really waiting until Monday? Looks like they are getting ready to start today based on boots on the ground.

With a forecast of severe thunderstorms and perhaps an isolated tornado this afternoon for Worcester, I think the crane boom stays horizontal.

Tornado? Worcester? They could name a baseball team by that name, couldn't they? That said, my grandparents lived through the Worcester tornado that wrecked Assumption. But watching the PPAC webcam, it does look more like prep work. The Jo is mostly inside work now anyway, so who knows what's going on there? Oh, yeah, Phreek does!

My name is Lamont Cranston. THERE IS AN ENHANCED RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PARTS OF NY TO SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND AND PARTS OF WEST/CENTRAL TX INTO SOUTHERN OK... ...SUMMARY... Scattered damaging winds, severe hail, and a couple [sic] tornadoes are probable across parts of New York into western New England this afternoon through early evening. Enhanced risk is unusual for New England

Zero indication this morning that construction has re-started.
Harvard is restarting in Boston
Cambridge has not re-started construction.

Does construction usually occur on Sundays ? I'm like a prisoner in a cell, who no longer has space on the wall to mark the days and weeks.

The webcam shows that there was no apparent damage to equipment or construction after the high winds and storm the other night. The porta-potties weren't even blown over! Looking forward to seeing activity tomorrow . . . . that'd be Monday, Phreek.

Good news on the construction front. Bunch of workers with their day-glo vests accumulating in the Luth parking lot. Looks like some organizational meetings to discuss their work as there are 2 separate groups. Let's see if the crane gets lifted in the next hour or so.

The workers previously had to park their private vehicles off-campus, and were shuttled to the work-site using a school bus or van-bus. HC has relented and now apparently allows them to park on an otherwise big, empty lot. _______________________________ It looks as if the nedw construction trailer inside the NE gate is where the workers are tested before going on to the work site.

Thanks for the updates A lot of us with so little to do Speaking of construction on campus, looks like a small parking lot is being constructed next to the indoor practice facility at the Luth. Whatever it is, it has a small footprint and it certainly appears to be a parking lot.

From what you described, this parcel is east of Luth, and where, prior to Luth, facilities and grounds had a fairly large aluminium shed. The dirt area as seen from a satellite The college does need to reconstruct and re-align the older parking lots at the top of the hill. So perhaps that too is in the cards.

Whatever they are working on is across the access road around the Luth, from the dirt area you reference. It is right up against the Luth

I have a difficult time seeing the work that is being done to the area next to the Luth from the Prior Web Cam.
What Cam are you using to view the work?

I have a difficult time seeing the work that is being done to the area next to the Luth from the Prior Web Cam. What Cam are you using to view the work? Are you unaware that Phreek has his own satellite? True story. Several months after I had returned from Russia, two gentlemen came by my office, and took out several satellite photographs, and asked me, 'What did I think was going on?' I looked at the photographs for a few minutes, -- as I recall these were of an area south of St. Petersburg -- and finally said, 'Damned, if I know.' ___________________________ With respect to the parking lot, I happened to catch a glimpse of a construction trailer being pulled on the Upper Campus Road toward Hogan. It was not brought into the PPAC site. My hunch is the trailer is for reconstructing the old parking lots between Hart and Hogan. I suspect the contract for this project had a start date after commencement (May 22) and the contractor is only mobilizing now. Don't need a construction trailer for re-paving; do need one if the contract calls for new drainage pipes and subsurface stormwater detention cells. These were put in for Luth (east side), for the new parking lot north of Luth (near Figge), and on the east side of PPAC area where the contractor is still digging..
