Hopefully some of that will carry over into our HC season next week.

On a downside 5 turnovers too. Caleb sat for the last 3 minutes of this blow out and still had 34 minutes. He is going to see a lot of floor time this season. Announcers were very high on Caleb. Most from talking to the coaching staff, but apparently the coaches talk about him more than most of the other players. Tough times for 'Sader Nation when all we have to talk about right now are how our former players are doing at their new school. Soon we'll be talking about how SFCC's former player is doing for us!, and next year we'll be talking a ton about UNO's former player

Can we start a thread about Jahaad Proctor's post-collegiate life? I'm ASSUMING he's finally exhausted his NCAA eligibility.

Not much happening now to discuss in that arena

Probably a sad tossup right now between watching BC football and former HC-player basketball. (Not saying I’m watching to root against, just saying.)

If you want to be even more miserable (seems like some people are a bit grouchy on this thread), BC basketball's two outings were impressive. They have a chance to be a decent team this year. Their schedule is very difficult, however. No Conte Forum cupcakes this year.

The fact that some here still root agsinst BC, though HC hasn't been a rival on the hardwood for 40 yrs, speaks to the age of most HC fans.

Has it been 40 years already since HC defeated BC so soundly in Worcester? I am losing track of time.

I do, just poking fun. I do remember how much more that win meant because it was over BC. Are we rivals? Well, not if it only matters to one side (as HC used to be with St Michael's only in this one we are St Michael's) but it was still special.

Their schedule is very difficult, however. No Conte Forum cupcakes this year. BC looked OK in the loss to Nova, but for an ACC team(even a bottom dweller) to beat a middle of the pack A10 team (URI) by only 5 cannot be too encouraging. But, of course, it is very early. Time will tell.

BC is in a better conference.
They are mid major at best.
BC has not made the NCAA tournament since 2009. 3 coaches ago. What is so great about them because they play tougher teams and lose?

Those losses still bring in needed funds because of the ACC. Otherwise the move was not a good one for them.

In the Patriot League, one out of 10 makes the tournament. Last tourney featured 7 out of 15 ACC teams. Hard to miss a decade

When (and if) we start winning PL championships and going to the NCAA tournament as regularly as we did under Willard, then, and only then might we have the "right" to sniff at BC basketball. Maybe, only maybe, we'll see if Nelson can turn around the most disastrous basketball season in our storied history. He's got a long way to go and I want to see results on the court not press clippings.

I will continue to sniff ( whatever that means) at BC basketball. I do not need any “right”.

Great game by Ohio losing by 2, they have a couple of really good players. Grandy player a few minutes in first half didn't get off the bench after halftime, doesn't look like he's in their top 7 rotation at this point. Makes you wonder about being the small fish in the big pond.

IMHO, not really. This is exactly what it means to be a small fish in a big pond.

Grandison is getting meaningful minutes for a top ten team.
Can we really blame him for transferring out of the train wreck that is the HC program?

If one expects loyalty from team members, yes. I wonder how well he will like going from being the leading scorer on his team for two seasons to picking up splinters at some games in his new home? He will certainly play, but not that much. That might mean his departure contributed to the "train wreck" (as you call it). He may pick up more playing time as the season progresses, but I really don't care much at all. I do wish him well, but his ups for downs don't mean much to me.
