Many posters here have an odd fascination with anyone who abandons HC. Definitely something unique to Holy Cross. Holy Cross is the only place where some people are interested in following former players. many places do that.

Many posters here have an odd fascination with anyone who abandons HC. Definitely something unique to Holy Cross fans. I don’t know any Patriots fans interested in what’s going on with Tom Brady in Tampa, Red Sox fans upset with how well Mookie Betts played for the Dodgers, or Celtics fans still upset with Kyrie Irving. Holy Cross is the only place where some people are interested in following former players. sienahoop.proboards.com/thread/6671/saint-transfer-tracker

Pretty popular topic on sports radio to look at/discuss players who were foolishly traded away, or cut, or departed on their own and found success (or failure) elsewhere. I recall Mets fans carefully eyeballing and endlessly discussing Daniel Murphy’s performance post-departure at great length. Nolan Ryan still comes up all the time in that context. And what Red Sox fan is unaware of the Curse of the Bambino? Beyond that, kind of hard to discuss current HC players hoop performance because they are not playing.

Holy Cross is the only place where some people are interested in following former players. I actually know a lot of Patriots fans who are now also following Tampa. In fact, Tampa is almost always the FOX game on TV in Boston. For years the Giants got the local treatment from FOX Boston, but now it's definitely Tampa There was a local Boston sports guy (Lobel?) who would occasionally show a highlight of a former Boston player having an exceptional game with the tag line "why can't we get players like that?" I have seen (and participated) in big ovations for former players returning to Fenway as opponents. The most glaring example had to be the city hall plaza rally for Ray Bourque bringing the Stanley Cup to Boston after winning with the Avalanche. Jacob is no Tom Brady or Ray Bourque, but it doesn't shock me that some fans might keep an eye on his career. It also doesn't shock me that some fans might hate him because they see his departure as a betrayal.

I don't hate them, like to watch them BECAUSE THERE IS NO ONE ON HOLY CROSS TO WATCH! I just hope they got exactly what they expected from their new teams. Green's playing major minutes, so I would assume he has; Grandy the jury is still out on. Maybe he knew his minutes* would be few and far between. Maybe he was promised more than that. It happens.
* PP pointed out his minutes were 8th on the team. True but a bit misleading; he's played a total of 11 minutes in the 3 games that Illinois has played that have been competitive. The other 34 were in a pair of massacres to open the season.

It think it would be fair to say that his times as team leader in any positive category ended when he left Mt Saint James. If he is happy with his situation, that is a good thing for him. I do wish him well.

Why do posters care about Kalif Raymond in the NFL? He no longer plays for Holy Cross.

Has anyone been able to ascertain what Jacob Grandison had for breakfast this morning? Can someone do some digging on this?

Why do posters care about Kalif Raymond in the NFL? He no longer plays for Holy Cross. Why? He is a proud graduate of Holy Cross and in the eyes of some, still bleeds purple.

Probably not because I think Brady and Giselle were happy to put New England in the rear view mirror and Ray Bourqe has become a lifer.

Looks like Grandy was the last of the 13 Illini players to enter last night’s blowout win. He scored 4 points over the final 4 minutes of the game.

Watched the second half.... you are correct,... he made 2 free throws and scored on a layup. Think he had 2 turnovers, one a really bad pass into the middle.... Illini up by 30+ before the bench was emptied....

His descent has been rapid. I thought he’d be a solid 10-12 minute guy as the 7th or 8th man. That’s what it looked like his role would be in Game 1 but it hasn’t been that since.

Perhaps he was higher in the rotation early because he had game experience and a year of practice compared to others that needed some seasoning. I don't know and I haven't watched many games, but a possible answer.
