Friday Trivia Who was the player (the1st ?) in the early 60s traded for himself ? Harry Chiti. The '62 Mets were one of the teams involved. Chiti was a decent platoon catcher for a few years, but his career was at an end by the time he showed up in Flushing.

Jimmie Dykes of Tigers traded to Indians for Joe Gordon—1959 or 1960. Cliff Dapper for HOF announcer Ernie Harwell. The first deal was a wash. Both Gordon and Dykes were not very good. Brooklyn, Baltimore and especially Detroit came out way ahead on the Dapper/Harwell deal.
