I have long since stopped wagering on football...too many punched walls, spikes in blood pressure etc. for someone of my age...still curious how potential wagers may play out though Pretty sure we've been "undah" in every game this year save for maybe Navy. HC-Navy went under

Been raining last couple of days in RI with 60% chance of rain again tonight and Friday but only 20% chance on Saturday. So probably a very wet field but cloudy weather for the game.

I always think the receivers have the advantage on a bad field- they know where they're going and the d-backs don't.
Of course, a crummy passer is crummier in the wind.

Pray for rain/wind in Providence Saturday. Bad weather on Saturday may bring good results for HC. LoveHC 4-0 Holy Cross in windy and moist conditions. GO CROSS GO.

I don't know what the weather was like in its first three games, but pass defense has not been a strength for Brown to date. I do understand that we have a QB with limited experience--not suggesting he's at the level of the QB's for Bryant, Harvard, URI
Opponents are
88-129= .682 1,092 Yards= 8.5 yards per attempt 9 TD passes 2 Interceptions by Brown

"Spahn and Sain and pray for rain", Boston Braves. Let's hope that HC has a better result than the Braves of Boston fame. LoveHC Yes. We don't want to move the team to Milwaukee.

These mid Oct games always scare me because the students have mid-terms all week (no school next week) - not a lot of rest and we have often come out very flat on this Saturday of Columbus day weekend - Brown can score and we can't so we will have to depend on our D to win this game, IMO.

Run in the rain, and throw in the snow.
Poor weather will sap our offense of its quite limited attack. Our defense doesn't need the elements to compete favorably against Brown. I'd rather have clear skies and low/no wind to give our offense every single ounce of help it can get-- it needs it.

sounds like it should be an exciting game between 2 well matched football teams (so lets stop the hand wringing)
GO 'SADERS!
p.s. like any good football fan i find defense "exciting"!!!

I'll repeat my contention that the Crusaders will be able to move the ball against Brown which, to-date, has had a porous defense yielding 497 yards to Bryant, 521 to Harvard, and 466 to Rhode Island. So, how has our offense done?
Versus Navy 237 Yards Total Offense by Holy Cross 292 Yards Total Offense average by East Carolina, Memphis, and Air Force HC= 81% of the other teams average
Versus UNH 315 Yards by Holy Cross 342 Yards average by Florida International, Rhode Island, Duquesne, and Elon HC= 92% of the other teams average
Versus Yale 237 Yards by Holy Cross 337 Yards average by Cornell and Fordham HC= 70% of the other teams average
Versus Syracuse 138 yards by Holy Cross 484 Yards average by Liberty, Maryland, Clemson, Western Michigan, and NC State HC= 29% of the other teams average
Versus Bucknell 394 Yards by Holy Cross 546 Yards by Temple, Sacred Heart, Villanova, and Princeton HC= 72% of the other teams average
It's hard to account for how the weather will affect HC, but I think we can move the chains against Brown for 350+ yards. On a dry field I'd put the over/under at 400 yards of total offense for Holy Cross

Weather forecast tomorrow is cloudy and breezy, as tropical storm currently to the south of Nantucket slowly tracks east.

Fantastic news about the win over PC. Now wins over URI and Brown could make it just perfect!

In 2016 when we beat PC in hockey 2 - 1 we also beat Harvard in FB that day 27 - 17. Let's make it a repeat by beating another Ivy in FB during a less than 24 hour period! Go Crusaders!

From a live webcam of tugboats in Providence harbor at 11 AM, fairly light wind, fog, drizzle. Providence did not get much rain from the nor'easter, so field may be slick, but shouldn't be a mudbowl.

Not worthy of a separate thread but given the close win URI had over Brown
URI hanging tough vs VaTech UNH in the lead
